Dark Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Weeks ago, a certified patent for Samsung had begun the whirlwind of speculation about the inclusion of Sound on Display technology for its main flagships. But he does not seem to be the only manufacturer in that race. According to the renowned filtering @OnLeaks, the LG G8 would have Sound on Display technology and in the case of LG Electronics this seems a more credible rumor. Why? For the simple reason that LG has already applied SoD technology on some of its premium TVs and has done so successfully. The technology that we can see on their TVs consists of vibration exciters that transmit light pulses through the composite screen and designed to reverberate those pulses. Contrary to what one might believe, the users of these televisions do not indicate that this mechanism interfere in the absolute in the quality of the image. In these terms, we can expect with a certain degree of hope that the LG G8 has intra-display sound exciters. Unfortunately, we still have no idea if this technology will be a direct reduction in scale of the version that we can currently see on TVs of the South Korean company, or if it will be a version with the same effect but specially designed for mobile devices. The fact is that the LG G8 could have a display with Sound on Display technology and this rumor adds to the long queue of luxury features that would co-host the next LG Electronics star cell phone. Constantly in the shadow of his cabotage colleague, LG could make an important leap in quality with its main smartphones in 2019 and could not come at a better time. The inclusion of Sound on Display technology would, of course, make the final price of the unit more expensive, but it will be totally for the benefit of a fashionable aesthetic ideal: the full screen design. A display with SoD involves the removal of rennet from the atrium piece and this is more ground for the screen to conquer in the upper front end of the equipment. 1
