United States bombed positions in Somalia by al-Qaida affiliated al-Shabaab terrorist group

No US or Somali soldiers were injured in clashes, said Nate Herring, Africa's spokesman, quoted by the Associated Press agency.

Military confrontations took place about 50 kilometers northwest of Kismayo harbor. Eighteen Al-Shabaab militants were killed in US air raids, and two were shots.
