Surely you have ever wanted to know how much RAM your computer has installed. In Windows it is relatively easy to know how much RAM your PC has, although there are also applications to know this data.

You could also know the amount of RAM installed on your computer physically, that is, if you have a tower computer you could open the lid and check the memory modules that the motherboard has. In any case, this would mean, in some cases, removing the modules and reading the label, something that everyone does not know how to do and is more dangerous than checking the quantity through an application.

Does having more RAM improve performance?
RAM in the Task Manager
The easiest and easiest way to know how much RAM you have installed on your computer is to open the "Task Manager" application. Until Windows XP it was possible to press the Control + alt + delete keys, but that key combination has disappeared with the new versions of Windows.

In Windows 10 you can access the task manager by right clicking on a free place on the taskbar (where the applications are open) and selecting the corresponding option, in this case, "Task Manager".

Access the "performance" tab and you will see how different color columns appear called CPU, Memory, Disk, etc. If you look at the "Memory" you will see how X / X GB appear. That means that of the total memory you have, a part of it is being used at those times.

For example, if you get 3.2 / 4 GB, it means that you have a total of 4 GB of RAM installed and the computer is using 3.2 GB at that time.

How to check the status of RAM in Windows
If you also click there you will see how a graphic opens up and you will see different data, where the memory in use, the available memory, the confirmation, the cache, etc. are displayed. The one that interests us here is the total and that you can see right above the graph.

As you can see, it is quite simple and easy to know how much RAM you have on your computer through the use of the operating system itself.
