OyaYansa
OnePlus has confirmed that its second flagship of 2018, the OnePlus 6T, will equip a fingerprint reader under the screen. Just a few days ago, a new filtering that came through Weibo revealed that the revision of the OnePlus 6 that was released last spring would have a fingerprint sensor on the screen. The filtered photos showed the supposed sales box of the terminal, in which appeared a design drawing where a fingerprint could be seen in the lower part of the screen. Now, the company has confirmed the veracity of this information. It has done so through an email sent to the CNET medium, in which it explains that the new feature, called Screen Unlock, will make it easier for users to unlock the mobile phone. "We unlock our smartphones several times a day and Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete this action," writes OnePlus. "By adding this feature as a complement to other screen unlocking options, such as Face Unlock, users will have more options to unlock the screen in the most efficient way for them." The company has explained that it had the intention to implement the FOD (Fingerprint On Display) technology in the OnePlus 5T, but finally they preferred to wait until the technology was sufficiently advanced to allow a faster and more fluid use experience. To accommodate this new component, the design of the OnePlus 6T has been slightly adjusted with respect to its predecessor. The internal hardware has had to be reorganized, and due to this its thickness will be slightly higher, specifically about 0.45 mm more. To illustrate what the terminal lock screen would look like, the Asian company has sent CNET a screenshot showing the Unlock icon in Screen Unlock. In this capture, a date is highlighted, Wednesday, October 17, which could be the launch date of OnePlus 6T.
