OyaYansa
A fine on patent infringement against Huawei has just been issued by the Texas jury in the United States, three finding the Chinese company guilty of infractions related to 4G LTE technology. PanOptis, the company that owns the patents in question, says that it has been trying, almost a dozen times during two years, to reach an agreement with Huawei about these infractions, which finally forced them to go to the courts to ask for the relevant compensation. Now the Texas jury in the United States has found Huawei guilty of these infractions, and the Chinese company is forced to pay 10.5 million dollars for these violations. Huawei is expected to appeal the decision, with which the litigation could be extended over time. PanOptis has several patents related to LTE technology, specifically for those systems that work to decode image and audio data. In the lawsuit is made known that the lawsuit goes against several smartphones of the Chinese firm as the Nexus 6P. The patents that supposedly had such license infringement are the following: 7,769,238; 6,604,216; 7,940,851; 8,385,284 and 8,208,569. Interestingly, these PanOptis patent infringements have also involved older Huawei products such as the Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei P8 Lite, which are hardly present in the United States compared to the Nexus 6P. This is not Huawei's first problem in the United States, since at the beginning of this year the plans of the Chinese company to have presence in the North American market through a partnership with the operator At & T were frustrated by the government of that country.
