We thought we would never need to say it, but biting the battery of a smartphone is not a good idea. And if you do not believe it, ask a young Asian man who could not think of anything better than to put an iPhone battery in his mouth to check if it was original or not. The result you can already imagine.

We have no doubt that this user will remember all his life what should not be done to check whether the cell phone battery is original or not. In a video recently released from a security camera in an electronics store in China, we can see what happens when a young man puts a cell phone battery in his mouth to, supposedly, verify if he is about to buy a certified component. the manufacturer.

The few seconds that the video lasts are enough to see our protagonist in front of the sales counter, apparently reviewing one of the mobile batteries that are for sale in the store. Moments later, this innocent buyer puts a battery of an iPhone in his mouth to check if it is original, and after hitting the first bite, the battery explodes. Luckily no one was hurt.

The reason why the battery explodes in this violent way is related to the unstable nature of lithium batteries. The chemicals contained inside the batteries are designed to remain stable as long as it does not change its condition or shape, but any modification - that includes bites of reckless users - can alter its composition even to the point of explosion.

Of course, we do not recommend under any circumstances bite a battery to check whether it is original or not. For this, there are other ways to know the origin of this indispensable component of the phone:

Go to authorized vendors. This is the only way to make sure you buy an original mobile battery.
Look at all the details, from when the letters are legible until the dates match the packaging through the stickers are well attached, if you have NFC, etc.
If you buy online, check the reputation of the seller and the comments of other users who bought the same product before.
And, for what you want most, do not put the battery in your mouth!
