OyaYansa
The new iPhone 8 and iPhone X are here. And with it, the new operating system iOS 11. It is one of the most important versions of the last years, not so much for its innovations or benefits, as for its external implications. And we have a release date. iOS 11 is the iPhone's tenth anniversary version. Also, the first one that harms the use of 32-bit applications, an obvious example of programmed obsolescence, to which mobile manufacturers are so fond of. iOS 11 only supports apps and 64-bit processors, which means it does not work on iPhone and iPad that have 32-bit processors, but have plenty of power for it. Any cell below the iPhone 5S and any iPad older than Fifth Generation, are not compatible. Here is the complete list of devices compatible with iOS 11. Also, more than 187,000 32-bit apps on the App Store will not be compatible with iOS 11. Many will be converted to 64-bit, but others that have been abandoned or their creators do not consider it cost-effective to convert them to 64-bit, you will not be able to use them in an iPhone or iPad with iOS 11. Facial Recognition Face ID The new iPhone leaves the fingerprint reader in the background, and focuses on facial recognition, with the new Face ID security platform. Not only can you unlock the iPhone X with your face, but also pay with Apple Pay and identify you in third-party apps. The Animoji iOS 11 introduces the new animated emoji, animoji, that not only move but are able to recognize the user's facial expression and tone of voice, to recreate his mood: This technology is currently available only on the iPhone X, as it needs special cameras and face sensors located on the front of the smartphone, to identify and move the movements in real time. Siri and deep learning Virtual assistants are a vital piece of work for Internet companies to achieve their economic goals (it leaves the reader's imagination to interpret this reflection). So both Google and Apple and others go to great length to perfect them. The new iOS 11 Siri uses deep learning and machine learning, two very trending ways to define programming with artificial intelligence, to speed up learning our tastes and hobbies, and speak more naturally. Siri now understands the context and your interests, and is able to anticipate what you need. One of the novelties is that now Siri can translate phrases in real time that he listens to. That is, it can carry out a simultaneous translation. At the moment it is only able to translate from English to Spanish, Chinese, German, French and Italian, but they are working in more languages. In addition, with SiriKit developers will be able to make the Apple virtual assistant access more third-party applications than ever before. Posts in iCloud The Messages app is now integrated into iCloud. This means that we can access our messages from any device, simply by connecting to iCloud. The new Control Center It has never been too intuitive to use, so Apple has retouched, again, the Control Center. Now fast features such as volume and playback controls, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity controls, flashlight power button, camera quick access, or Do Not Disturb mode activation have been rearranged and grouped into a single place of easy access. The Notification Center receives new functions. It is now easier to check previous notifications that we have closed, in case we want to remember them. Augmented reality It has long been rumored that Apple was working on augmented reality glasses. To open the mouth, Apple has implemented augmented reality support in iOS 11. That is, the ability to view objects and virtual content is a real scenario. It is designed for virtual reality but works perfectly on the screen of iPhone or iPad, thanks to the camera and gyroscopic sensors. Camera and Photos Apple is not very friendly to micro SD cards, as we know, because it is the main means of access for hackers. But with 4K resolution videos and photos have grown in size dramatically, and many people still do not get used to using iCloud instead of a physical medium. That's why Apple has proposed to reduce the size of photos and videos without losing quality, and for that purpose has implemented two new multimedia formats, which supposedly reduce the size in half without visual loss of quality. They are HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) for video, and HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format) for photos. iOS 11 has also improved Portrait Mode. A new engine especially optimizes photos in low light, through optical image stabilizer, true tone flash and HDR. The photos have a better finish and the colors are more vivid and close to reality. New Loop, Bounce and Long Exposure effects have also been added, which will delight Instagram fans. The Photos app adds the Memories feature, which automatically groups photos with certain people, places or events, to create themed albums.
