OyaYansa
Chinese company Huawei has chosen the IFA 2017 framework to present its Kirin 970 processor, the successor to the Kirin 960 that is likely to carry its long-awaited Huawei Mate 10 and futuristic phones such as Huawei P11 and Huawei P11 Plus. We are talking about a proprietary processor that will mark a before and after due to its neural processing capability, and that will compete face-to-face with giants like Qualcomm, Samsung or Apple in the niche of mobile processors. The new Huawei processor has been the protagonist of IFA 2017 on Saturday, highlighting its unique advanced core technology and being the first processor to carry a category 18 LTE modem. There are many features to note from a processor that has been promoted to hype by the Chinese company with certain advances that we detail below. Among the features of the Kirin 970 that stand out is that it has been manufactured in 10nm process, an important step since its predecessor was manufactured in 16nm. What does this advance mean? For we are a processor that consumes less energy without quarreling with performance and is able to offer a higher processing speed, thanks to its 5500 million built-in transistors. The composition of Kirin 970 comes to be similar to its predecessor, now with 8 cores divided into four Cortex A73 at 2.4GHz and four Cortex A53 at 1.8Ghz. The GPU is a Mali G72 with ARM architecture that increases its cores from 8 to 12 for better graphic rendering tasks. But the biggest novelty of the processor is the inclusion of a neural processing unit, which is used for tasks of real-time image processing or voice recognition, to be able to maximize all these advances in artificial intelligence that are coming to short term. To conclude, and not least, this is a processor with support for dual cameras and LTE speeds up to 1.2Gbps.
