Bethesda has announced Survival Mode beta test will be live soon for Fallout 4 PC users through Steam. No further details were provided anyway, although we already know there's something pretty sweet incoming together with the update, once it will be ready for PC at least and then for consoles at the end of this test.

The news came from Twitter, where the developer was solicited by players asking where the long promised new Survival Mode would be coming. There's still a lack of release window, both for the beta and the complete update, despite the test is said to be coming pretty "soon" on Steam.

"We're doing things like you can't save, it only saves your game when you sleep. You can't fast travel. There're all of these diseases. We're trying it all. It's a different experience. We're not trying to make it a ton harder. It's harder because you're doing more things. We want the combat to feel different, as opposed to just being a bullet sponge," game director Todd Howard said a while ago about this new mode.

Fallout 4 first DLC, Automatron, is releasing today for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, introducing a new, robotic storyline that allows players to have robot companions and to customize them with accessories found along the road.
