Almost since the beginning, Star Wars has been a story of redemption from darkness. So, in an ironic sort of way, Battlefront 2 is a better Star Wars game because of its initial fall to the dark side and subsequent journey back to the light. After over two years of updates and changes, EA and DICE have redeemed this gorgeous shooter and turned it into one of the best multiplayer adaptations of the Star Wars universe to date. The Singleplayer Campaign still remains the same, short overly safe and a little bit disappointing with only one free DLC. Still, it has a purpose in the Star Wars universe and it even has a book called "Inferno Squad" followed from the game. Talking about the updates that put this game back into its feet: They delivered a lot of updates throughout the years, exactly 2018 and 2019, and we even have updates that are still coming for 2020. New heroes, new planets, new gamemodes, new ways to play and most importantly, no micro-transactions. Let's get back a while at the beginning, explaning everything. The ground based assault modes (Galactic Assault & Capital Supremacy), you have four main classes: Assault (Rush), Heavy (Defensive), Officer (Support) and Specialist (Sniper/Offensive) having each class powerful weapons. The battle points system that allows you to change them into other playable characters, such as Reinforcements (Death Troopers, Wookies, Flametroopers, Clone Commando, Droideka etc) you can add into the ground to help your team out, or Infiltrators (Sith Troopers, Commando Droid, Arc Troopers etc) or Vehicles (TX-130, AAT, AT-ST etc). The ones you would 100% are heroes, and yes, they can be traded with battle points (but not on all game-modes tho). The gamemode called Heroes vs Villains is an iconic STAR WARS battle in which every hero and villain clash together to fight themselves until one team win, the light side, or the dark side. Choose between Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Rey or have a blaster hero like Han Solo or Finn and at the dark side? You won't have anything to worry about as Darth Vader himself can take upon all enemies, with a little help maybe from Count Dooku or Darth Maul. Blaster heroes from the dark side are powerful too, such as Iden Versio (the main character from the Campaign) or Boba fett, or maybe Captain Phasma. Choose your battle in every STAR WARS era, any available maps (Naboo, Starkiller Base, Geonosis, Death Star II, Ajan Kloss, Felucia, D'Qar, Kessel etc) and have your own unique way of playing it with any available characters you want, and I'll tell you, they are a lot. The latest update introduced was the BB Update, which introduced 2 new powerful heroes, only that, they are droids, BB units to be exact. They are BB-8 (light side) and BB-9E (dark side) and they can stun you pretty hard! Have a look at them below: The base of the game relies on 2 powerful 24/7 played gamemodes which are Capital Supremacy and Heroes vs Villains. The last year's addition to the game was the Capital Supremacy gamemode, which is 90% the gamemode from Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) called Conquest with a little change. Now, you can take the battle from the ground into the air, most precise into the capital ships. Let's talk about the progression system. Each character from the game, each vehicle, each star fighter have 3 abilities, except Anakin Skywalker because, he's the chosen one. Each ability has it's own star cards, and each star card can be upgraded. The star cards can be upgraded when your character/vehicle/star-fighter levels up. It has 4 rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic. Something else have rarities too, but we'll get in there after. At a specific level on your character, your star card can be upgraded to a different rarity. You do not have to worry about your max level, 'cause that's 1000, and it will be displayed as MAX once you reach it, on every character/vehicle/star-fighter. Approx. each hero/character has skins, different in terms of costs and how they look, let's have a look: The new addition to the game brings offline/coop play in action. Take upon AI troopers, reinforcements, vehicles and heroes in the new offline gamemode called Instant Action (Capital Supremacy but offline). Another online gamemode is called Co-op and it has the feeling of Instant Action, but with 3 more players in your team. Come along side 500.000+ members and join the battles with your team members or alone ( but you will find some guys on the way, I'm pretty sure). The game is available for you to play on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with the Standard edition that delivers only the game at 24.99€ (currently reduced at 19.99€ / 24.02.2020) or have the Celebration Edition which gives you all the customization options currently in the game (and the next ones) at 39.99€ (currently reduced at 23.99€ / 24.02.2020). See you on the battlefront, trooper. Review by REVAN
