In about two months, Microsoft will release the new version of Windows 10, also known as 10 19H1. A number of new features have been added to it - there are changes to the way it is updated and how to interact with the computer system.
It is known that if the base disk space is too small, the attempt to install the update ends with an erroneous error. Windows 10 19H1 eliminates similar scenarios by saving disk space specifically for upgrades. Information is from Microsoft, which announced it on its official blog.
The new Storage Sense disk storage feature is introduced for devices with a clean installation of Windows 10 1903. No additional settings are required, everything is automated and the new function works in the background. On computers upgraded from version 1803, such a repository will not be created.
In everyday work, Windows OS will put the temporary files of system processes and applications into that repository. In this way, the disk space is taken in advance and upon arrival of the update, the user does not have to worry that there is not enough space on his system disk. In this way, the operating system will work more stable. The Storage Sense feature will self-remove any unnecessary temporary files and, if necessary, increase the storage size.
When an update comes out, Windows 10 will put the required files into this repository. You will not need to manually clean the computer to install the next update.
