There have been seven consecutive months in which the two-wheel market has decreased. During the month of November, 4,059 motorcycles were sold in Chile, which represents a 43% drop compared to the same month in 2021. This is the seventh consecutive month in which the two-wheel market has contracted, denoting a sharp slowdown in a sector that, thanks to the pandemic, experienced the best months in history, and which in 2021 registered the highest sales since it began It has a record: 64,571 units. The accumulated is still good, indicates in the National Association of Motorcycle Importers. In the first 11 months of the year, 50,316 units have been sold, which means a contraction of 12.6% compared to the same period in 2021. "Beyond the contraction, 2022 continues to be one of the best years for motorcycle sales at the national level, and one month after closing the year, it is the second best performance in the last 10 years," indicates the union body. In the breakdown of the January-November period, 45,373 units correspond to urban motorcycles, while 2,973 are so-called competition motorcycles and 1,970 all-terrain quadricycles (ATV+UTV). Along these lines, the smallest motorcycles belonging to the urban segment, with less than 124 cc, registered a positive variation with respect to the period January - November 2021, since 4,873 of these motorcycles have been sold so far this year. , versus the 2,496 of the previous period. This represents an increase of 95%. Regarding the origin of the imported units, ANIM indicates that 59.4% come from China, 28.5% from India, 2.2% from Thailand and 2.1% from Japan, among other origins. A summer with more high temperature events, especially in the areas between Coquimbo and Ñuble. That is part of the Meteorology projection regarding how the heat will be experienced this summer 2022-2023; that even before the season officially begins, it has already left highs of up to 40°. "Summer is going to be quite extreme," the meteorologist from the Chilean Meteorological Directorate, Edita Amador, told Emol on December 11, on a day when the forecast pointed to temperatures of up to 37°. Global warming, to a large extent, behaves as a trigger for a reality that, experts warn, will have to get used to. In this context, the authorities have already started some campaigns to protect the po[CENSORED]tion. Last Wednesday, the governor of the Metropolitan Region, Claudio Orrego, together with the presidential delegate, Constanza Martínez, and the regional director of Onemi, Miguel Muñoz, presented the first Regional Protocol for Extreme Heat and High Temperatures, called "Código Rojo ". Each stage of the protocol (green, yellow or red alert) will be activated according to the forecast temperature, and measures will be applied such as inspection and even suspension of public events, suspension of work if there is a danger to health, or the recommendation to suspend sports activities in educational establishments; in short, recommendations and obligations. But there are other imperative challenges that go beyond self-care. Just as an aging country begins to reveal the need to adapt cities to the elderly, climate change also forces us to rethink cities to make them more "livable" in a scenario of hostile and suffocating summers. Thus, the gaze should be focused, in the opinion of the experts, on po[CENSORED]tions at risk -elderly adults, chronic patients, children and pregnant women- and more vulnerable groups; because the heat also exposes social inequality and prevents all people from being able to protect themselves in the same way. The actions of the regional government There are three large dimensions on which Governor Claudio Orrego affirms that it is important to work with a view to increasing temperatures: creating culture, increasing urban trees and working on better infrastructure. In fact, these were part of the issues that were addressed in March, when Santiago became the first city in Latin America to participate in the Leading Cities for Extreme Heat, which was held on March 3. In conversation with Emol, Orrego stresses that, together with the recently presented protocol, work must be done to create a "culture of protection for vulnerable groups", which even involves educating health system personnel on this matter. One step towards this is the reception of 25 air-conditioned ambulances by the regional government, precisely designed to deal with this type of temperature. The second measure aims at planting trees with low water consumption in the city. "Unfortunately, one of the many inequalities in Santiago is the heat," says Orrego; differences that become evident with the east in the western and northern sectors. Therefore, in 2023 a plan will begin to be implemented that contemplates the planting of 30,000 trees in different heat islands (urban places that concentrate high temperatures due to the excessive presence of concrete and lack of vegetation); which will expand to another 100,000 by 2024. Third, Orrego states that it is important to work on infrastructure. "We have to work with the Ministry of Housing to generate new insulation standards in the case of social housing, for example; or think about green roofs for public and private buildings. Everything, under the idea that extreme heat is here to stay ", he remarked. For now, the green roof alternative (a building partially or completely covered with vegetation) already has a pilot at the Dr. Exequiel González Cortés Hospital, an area that was awarded the project last June. That means 1,000 square meters of extensive green roofs; the capture of three tons per year of CO2; the neutralization of 300 cars in one year; and the mitigation of the effect of heat islands, which results in a 22% drop in medication consumption and stress reduction, among other benefits. Infrastructure on roofs and care spaces "It is important to consider the focus of the emergency, that is, the elderly, pregnant women and children who are much more likely to suffer the consequences of intense heat, in addition to the vulnerable communities that are in certain territories affected by these islands of heat", says Beatriz Mella, director of the City Center of the Andrés Bello University and doctor in Urban Planning. https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2022/12/20/1081462/adaptar-rm-ciudad-verano-extremo.html

Not all computer systems require a high performance processor and many times a low consumption one is enough for us. Unfortunately, the war for the maximum performance of Intel against AMD has meant that these types of processors have been abandoned. Which has made CPUs with register sets and ARM instructions have taken positions. That is why Pat Gelsinger's company wants to recover lost ground and wants to revive the Atom with a new processor, the N95. One of the biggest fiascoes in the world of computing and the one that is considered the biggest failure for Intel, is not having a low-power processor that would allow it to make mobile phones, tablets or SmartTVs have an x86 processor. inside. The good news is that the vast majority of wafers go to PC processors where Intel makes higher margins. One only has to see the terrible state of health of ARM Holdings due to the little money they get for licensing their technology to third parties, which has led them to back down. So many people believed that Intel would abandon this market and with it the development of its most modest processors under the Intel Atom brand. This is the Intel N95 processor, the first Atom in a long time Not everything was going to be i-something on the part of the company founded by Gordon Moore and against all odds it seems that they are going to manufacture their Atom processors again. His release? Well, it could be coming soon and we may see some ultra-thin and ultra-light laptops unveiled at CES. Are we approaching the era of laptops weighing less than 1 kg? Well, this is what they would look for with the N95 processor. Which has been possible in the results of the Geekbench 5 benchmark What is your architecture? Well, it would use four Gracemont cores, a name that if it makes you look like you don't know it, we will tell you that they are the E-Cores of the Intel Core 12, those chips with lower performance, but also smaller, which are also known as E- Cores. Which will work at very, very low frequencies. So it will not end up in multimedia workstations and not in gaming computers, but in much more modest systems. Specifically, the specifications that we know are: 4 Gracemont cores, E-Cores. 1.7 GHz base speed. 2.8GHz Boost speed. 2MB L2 cache 6MB L3 cache Could we see a Raspberry Pi from Intel? What we don't expect is a complete chip that includes all the necessary elements except RAM and storage. That is, it has even a small integrated graphics. This is obviously going to be a very small chip that we don't expect to see for any desktop PC socket. However, we must clarify that we would like to see a Raspberry Pi-style SBC with which to do projects like the famous board, but with the advantages of having an x86 ecosystem. Let's not forget that as much as the Pi seems to us, a banality or something for geeks, it has managed to permeate without problems within the educational market and is used in many industries. Those are large-scale contracts that any company is going to want, and Intel has the ability to not only manufacture, but to support a project of this type on a large scale. While it wouldn't be the first x86 based SBC, just the fact that it would be done on a large scale would be interesting to see. Especially since it would allow loading the same applications and the ecosystem of the PC. And this is not speculation, it is something that they already showed a few months ago, under the code name of Horse Creek. https://hardzone.es/noticias/perifericos/smart-tv-sin-cables-displaced/

In addition, 51% agree that the basic text proposal be drafted by an elected body and experts. For its part, disapproval of President Boric dropped slightly this week, standing at 64%. In a week marked by the constitutional agreement between the parties with parliamentary representation for a new Constitution, the most recent Cadem survey, published this Sunday, highlights that 55% consider that this new process will be better than the one carried out by the Convention. Along these lines, 21% estimate that it will be the same as before and 22% estimate that it will be worse. Likewise, 51% agree that the Magna Carta proposal be drafted by 50 elected councilors and 24 experts. Otherwise, 46% reject the new body. According to Cadem, the people who agree with the body identify with "the right (64%) and the center (65%), the middle class (60%), over 55 years of age (55%) and they voted rejection in the plebiscite (59%). Meanwhile, those who oppose the agreement identify themselves mostly with the left (57%), they voted to approve in the plebiscite (53%) and the youth (51%)". Regarding preferences to integrate the Committee of Experts, 88% expect them to be academics, 83% to be constitutional lawyers without political militancy and 79% economists. For their part, 57% reject the idea that former presidents are part of the body of experts. 68% to be made up of former ministers and 76% former parliamentarians. Evaluation of President Boric and his cabinet This week's Cadem showed that approval of President Gabriel Boric fell to 30% (-1), while disapproval stood at 64%, one point less than the previous study. Meanwhile, his administration to his cabinet continues to be led, positively, by the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, who received 63% approval this week. He is followed by the Ministers of Health and Segpres, Ximena Aguilera (60%) and Ana Lya Uriarte (59%), respectively. Otherwise, among the worst evaluated secretaries are the head of Social Development, Giorgio Jackson (62%); that of Economy, Nicolás Grau (54%) and the spokeswoman Camila Vallejo (51%). https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2022/12/18/1081416/cadem-18-diciembre-acuerdo-constitucional.html

(CNN) -- It's been a week of bizarre finds for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA): a six-pack of nunchucks and other sharp objects, and now, a dog in a backpack. This week "a dog was accidentally sent through the X-rays" at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin, the TSA said on its verified Great Lakes region Twitter account Tuesday afternoon. They find a cat trapped inside a suitcase at an airport Animals must be removed from transport cases and the empty transporter must go through the screening machine, the TSA said. "When traveling with any animal, notify your airline and know their rules," the agency said in its tweet. This latest discovery follows the discovery last month of a live cat trapped inside a suitcase at New York's John F. Kennedy airport. That cat, named Smells, was given a Thanksgiving feast after his ordeal. fly with a pet Major airlines in the United States charge fees for traveling with a pet on board a flight, sometimes in excess of the cost of the ticket. American Airlines and United Airlines charge $125 each way. Southwest and Delta charge $95 each way. If you want to travel with your small pet in the cabin of an airplane, the TSA has some helpful tips so you can do it the right and humane way. One of Citroën's next launches in the region will feature the new C3 Mercosur/India SUV. We are talking about one of the members of the C-Cubed Project, so the brand will unveil three models in this part of the world, between this year and 2024, the first being the aforementioned hatchback. Although information about the brand new SUV has been circulating for a few months, in the last few hours it was a Brazilian designer who imagined its possible appearance. Let's see how I think it will be, and then delve into everything that is known about the model. New Citroën SUV: Will it look like this? The designer Joao Kleber Amaral made a series of renders for the Auto Esporte media with what he hopes will be the appearance of the future Citroën SUV. In general terms, the design uses the C5 Aircross, although in the details it recovers aspects of the new C3, a model with which it will share a platform. For example, the front presents the unfolded light group, imitating what is seen in the hatchback, but within a more robust front assembly, as imposed by the fashion of SUVs. It is in the side view where the resemblance to the C5 Aircross is most noticeable, taking into account the higher height of the front, the shape of the window-pillar assembly and the longer rear overhang. In addition, the rear part is more square than that of the C3, a model from which the designer also took several of his design lines, both for the sides and for the rear sector of the SUV. New Citroën SUV: what is known? Main member of the CC24 Project, the new Citroën SUV would be made on the CMP platform, the same as the new C3, so, in addition to part of its aesthetics, it would have its electrical architecture and mechanical elements. Of course: its wheelbase would be greater (it would go from 2,540 mm to 2,620 mm), to provide a greater interior space and thus accommodate seven occupants. In terms of motor, the SUV would have two options, a 1.6 VTi already known with 114 Hp and 5MT or 6AT box options, plus a FIAT alternative, the T200, a one-liter turbo three-cylinder with 120 Hp and 200 Nm associated to a CVT box. As for the name, and following what Citroën has done lately, the brand new model is expected to be called C3 Aircross. It seems that indoors it is already defined, but the brand still did not want to make it official. New Citroën SUV: Launch The future Citroën SUV will be produced in Brazil, more precisely at the Porto Real plant, as well as in India. Regarding its launch, it is expected to happen both in the neighboring country and in Asia during the first half of 2023. Chile has already been denied a passport to the C3, so we do not know if it is in the plans to bring more of these regional models to our market. https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2022/12/16/asi-podria-verse-el-futuro-citroen-c3-suv-de-7-asientos

Chile can become a key supplier to advance in the decarbonization of the world economy. This, not only because it is the world's largest producer of copper or has unique conditions for the production of green hydrogen, but also the potential it has to distribute lithium to the world. This element is concentrated mainly in the arid Andean plateaus between Argentina, Chile and Bolivia, also known as the "Lithium Triangle". Only these three countries take more than a third of the "white gold" that exists on the entire planet In this sense, the Salar de Atacama steals all eyes, since it is the largest lithium brine deposit, where more than half of the world's reserves are found. In Chile, lithium reserves belong to the State and are mainly exploited by Sociedad Química y Minera (SQM) and the American company Albemarle, who have become the main players in the field. Although the best use that can be given to this chemical element is energy storage - such as in car batteries, telephones and computers - it is also used for pharmaceuticals or air conditioning systems. There is even talk of its importance in "nuclear fusion", a historic advance recently achieved by American scientists and which would allow progress in the generation of clean and potentially inexhaustible energy. However, despite the advantages that the territory presents, Chile is lagging behind in this industry. Argentina, Australia and China lead. Concern that has been manifested for some time among experts, who have urged the Government to take action on the matter. The Executive has been talking for months about promoting a national lithium policy -which includes the creation of a National Lithium Company-, but it seems that no progress is made other than announcements, without taking advantage of the current "boom" that the mineral is experiencing. "This is a clear example where there is the capacity to make the investments, there are the technologies to extract lithium and the interest of investors, but a decision is needed from the authority to point out and set the formula for how it will be done. ", stressed the president of the National Mining Society (Sonami), Jorge Riesco. "It has to be done with legal certainty, calmly and giving the guarantee that the projects will be developed and finished," he added. Given the concern that market share is being lost with each passing day, Eduardo Bitran, an academic at the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of the Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI) explained that the industry "will grow from 600,000 tons in 2022 to a million three hundred thousand tons by 2027, with which our market share will be less than 20% (...) Chile will go from having been the first producer in the world in 2016 to fourth place in 2027". However, Bitrán argues that in order to recover participation and take advantage of capturing greater economic rents for the State, "a strategy should be developed that allows the production of up to 500,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate equivalent by 2028." "For this, it is necessary to invest in solving the water sustainability problems of the basin. The first priority is to promote the desalination of salt water, to replace the extraction of fresh water from the salt flat. At the same time, progress must be made in the piloting of direct extraction of lithium that reduce water evaporation in the driest area in the world. However, the start of production with these new technologies can be planned for 2027 or 2028," he added. In the same way argued Francisco Rivas, director of Civil Mining Engineering at the University of Talca. "First you have to make the rules clear. A sensation is starting to rise due to statements made in the press that you are creating noise on environmental issues," he said. Secondly, "the legal and business framework around lithium must be clear as soon as possible, the State must advance in the national lithium policy, 2022 has already passed and no decisions have yet been made regarding this policy announced by President Boric in his public account, and we spent another year without advancing concretely on this issue that is relevant to our country". Nuclear fusion A few days ago it was confirmed by American scientists from Lawrence Livermore's laboratory that more energy could be generated from "nuclear fusion" than was used to drive the experiment. In this sense, it would be advancing towards the creation of unlimited power and without carbon emissions. For this, a series of elements is required, including tritium, which is not easy to obtain. The way to generate tritium is from lithium and there arises a new opportunity for Chile https://www.emol.com/noticias/Economia/2022/12/19/1081313/competencia-feroz-litio-fusion-nuclear.html

If you have a Steam Deck, you will have found that you have wanted to put your entire collection of games already acquired on the Valve platform and you will have run out of space. What do you think of being able to expand its capacity to be able to load more games? Well, you can do it with Sabrent Rocket SSDs. What is special about them and why are they ideal for the Valve console and the like? For us, one of the biggest design mistakes of the Steam Deck is the use of NVMe drives that require a PCI Express port to function, with very high consumption when transferring data. Which is nonsense when you consider that PC games these days still don't take full advantage of solid-state drives. However, the good thing about all this is that it allows you to expand the capacity or even replace our unit if it has broken without having to throw the console away. Sabrent Rocket, compact size NVMe SSD Many of us would like to be able to stream as many games as possible to our Steam Deck, however we find that the most expensive model has only 512 GB of storage and for many users that capacity may be limited. While Valve doesn't recommend opening up your PC in handheld console form to inexperienced hands, it's not entirely against experienced users tinkering with the device. Well, Sabrent has announced a series of NVMe SSD drives that have been designed to be installed in the Steam Deck, since they are 30 mm in length, when normally M.2 drives of this type are usually 80 mm when installed. intended for use on conventional computers. In addition, another of its improvements is that they have all the circuits on a single side of the PCB, which makes it easier to install on the Valve console if we need to expand the capacity of our portable console. In addition, they are ideal to be able to install in ultra-thin laptops with an M.2 port and that have very little available space. Therefore, the existence of these units is appreciated in a world where most of the SSDs that we find are of the 2280 type and are not prepared for this type of system. What is your performance? These new solid-state drives have received the name Sabrent Rocket and are compatible with the PCI Express 4.0 interface, so they can also be used in a conventional computer as long as it supports 2230 drives. As for their numbers, they are as follows: Transfer speed up to 5 GB/s in sequential transfer. It can reach 3.7 GB/s of bandwidth with random reads and writes with 4K data blocks. Up to 920,000 IOPS. Capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. We must start from the fact that the speed of the Steam Deck storage unit works between 2.4 GB/s and 3.5 GB/s, so these Sabrent Rocket are ideal for increasing the storage capacity of your laptops. https://hardzone.es/noticias/perifericos/sabrent-rocket-ssd-steam-deck/

The President visited the volunteer who ended up with his body burned after fighting one of the active fires in Quilpué and called on the po[CENSORED]tion to be cautious in the event of new emergencies. "As a government, we are very much on top of the forest fires," said President Gabriel Boric this Friday after flying over the affected areas in the Valparaíso and Metropolitan regions. Upon leaving the Institute for Work Safety in Viña del Mar, where he visited a firefighter who ended up with his body burned while fighting one of the fires in Quilpué this Thursday, the President said: "I want to thank all the firefighters and workers and Conaf workers, to the volunteers who are carrying out this important task. Which is to fight the fires, in these difficult moments for our country with the high temperatures that we have experienced". Gabriel Boric stated that from the Executive they will seek to improve the working conditions of volunteers who fight accidents: "I spoke with the Minister of Labor to be able to improve the conditions in which the volunteers and workers of the Conaf are working to be able to ensure that they have the endowment that is required to fight forest fires. "Here the lives of people like Javier - an injured firefighter - who are fighting the fires with tremendous courage and strength are at risk. He told me that when he finishes his recovery he wants to go back to being a volunteer and that vocation is something that I deeply respect. added the head of state. Along these lines, Boric called on the po[CENSORED]tion to be prudent in the face of the high risk of new emergencies in the country: "A difficult summer is coming and therefore we call for prudence and collaboration so that everyone follows the instructions regarding forest fires, to be very cautious". https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2022/12/16/1081323/boric-incendios-forestales-conaf-bomberos.html

(CNN) -- For decades, no one knew where the remains of the last thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger, were located. As it turns out, they were hiding in plain sight: at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) on the Australian island state, where they had gone unidentified for more than 80 years. The size of a coyote, the Tasmanian tiger disappeared around 2,000 years ago from virtually everywhere except Tasmania. As the only marsupial predator to have lived in modern times, it played a key role in the island's ecosystem, but that also made it unpo[CENSORED]r with humans. In the 19th century, European settlers blamed shy, semi-nocturnal Tasmanian tigers for livestock losses (although feral dogs and human mismanagement of habitat were the culprits in most cases) and They hunted them to extinction. The last known Tasmanian tiger was an old female captured by a trapper and sold to a zoo in May 1936, according to a TMAG news release published Monday. The animal died several months later, and her body was later transferred to the museum. But the zoo did not keep any records of the sale because capture on land was illegal, so the trapper could have faced a fine, according to the statement. This meant that the researchers and museum staff were completely unaware of the importance of the Tasmanian tiger in their collection. "For years, many museum curators and researchers searched for his remains without success, since no thylacine specimen dating from 1936 had been registered in the zoological collection, so it was assumed that his body had been discarded," says Robert Paddle, a comparative psychologist at the Australian Catholic University, in the news release. After being brought to TMAG, the Tasmanian tiger's body was skinned and its skeleton disassembled as part of an educational collection, used by museum teachers to explain thylacine anatomy to students, and was often taken outside the museum. , according to the statement. During that time, most of the world mistakenly thought that another Tasmanian tiger that died at Beaumaris Zoo in Hobart on September 7, 1936, was the last known individual of its species. The error went undetected until recently, when an unpublished report from a museum taxidermist was discovered. The report, dated between 1936 and 1937, mentioned a Tasmanian tiger among the specimens worked that year, prompting a review of all Tasmanian tiger skins and skeletons at TMAG, where the last of its species was eventually identified. . Scientists plan the resurrection of the Tasmanian tiger, an animal extinct since 1936 "It is bittersweet that the mystery surrounding the remains of the last Tasmanian tiger has been solved and discovered to be part of the TMAG collection," said TMAG Director Mary Mulcahy. The remains are now on public display in the museum's Tasmanian tiger gallery. In recent years, the Tasmanian tiger has made a comeback in the headlines due to ongoing -- and controversial -- efforts by scientists to bring the animal back through ancient DNA recovery, gene editing and artificial breeding. https://cnnespanol.cnn.com/2022/12/05/tigre-tasmania-escondidos-museo-trax/

Innovative use of responsible materials and a streamlined sustainable production process mean Oli is an economical, zero-emission vehicle that meets the needs of multiple lifestyles. Innovations include reducing the number of components required for the doors and seats to simplify production processes and reduce weight. Oli is also equipped with Vehicle-to-Grid capability, which means owners can sell power to the grid, as well as having parts that are 100% recyclable. Its tires are estimated to last up to 500,000 kilometers thanks to a sustainable casing and tread that can be renewed twice throughout their life. Ginny Buckley, Founder and CEO of Electrifying.com, said: “To say that OIi is the most important electric car we've seen in a decade is a big statement; But along with a host of overpriced and overpriced electric cars, Oli stands out for its approach to minimizing its environmental footprint, innovative use of recycled materials, and fresh, creative design. Many manufacturers talk about sustainability, but it's comforting to see that Citroën really puts it at the center of what it does." Vincent Cobée, Citroën Global CEO, commented: “Oli represents the next steps in Citroën's electric mobility journey, showing what is possible with the intelligent use of materials and technology. For Citroën, the future is not about ever bigger batteries, longer electric range and massive electric SUVs. Instead, we think it's time to think about how to do things differently and better. Oli is a real-world representation of this philosophy and, crucially, aligns with our core belief in vehicle accessibility and the circular economy. We are very pleased to receive this 'Green Hero' award, which recognizes the importance of this vision for the future.” https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2022/12/16/citroen-gana-en-inglaterra-el-prestigioso-green-hero

The convicted person had received a sentence of 18 years ago. José Tralcal Coche, one of those convicted of the murder of the Luchsinger Mackay couple, was released on parole after the Temuco Court of Appeals decided to grant it. This by virtue of an appeal made by the defendant's defense. Due to the decision of the Ministers of the Third Chamber of the Court, it is expected that Tralcal.. Who committed the crime in 2013 with his cousin and the machi Celestino Córdoba, will leave the Education and Work Center in the next few hours, where he is serving sentence in the commune of Victoria, La Araucanía. Previously, on October 15, the defense's appeal had been rejected by the Parole Commission of the Judiciary. The convicted person received an 18-year sentence in 2018. The Court's decision generated criticism from deputies in the area, especially from the opposition. The RN deputy, Miguel Mellado, considered it "a very bad sign" since Tralcal has not served even "half of the sentence." "When Chileans ask for a strong hand against crime and terrorism, what do the judges do? They let go the murderers of the Luchsinger Mackay couple who were burned alive," adding: "They are applying the law badly. There are minority votes that It must be reviewed because what these judges do leaves Chilean justice in a very bad footing". The independent senator of the RN committee, Carmen Gloria Aravena, assured that the benefit "is of the utmost seriousness, because it releases an extremely dangerous criminal, not complying with the requirements established by law, who is unaware of the crime and less any repentance for the brutal crime". Calling on the Executive: "It is incomprehensible that the Government had not taken part in keeping this criminal in jail. The Government must appeal the decision of the Temuco Court of Appeals, because the law is not being complied with and it is also tremendous damage is done to the relatives of the Lucksinger Mackay couple in obtaining justice for this very serious crime". https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2022/12/16/1081295/corte-temuco-libertad-condicional-tralcal.html

With each passing day, it becomes more and more difficult to think about acquiring a computer to play. Graphics cards are not the only component that has risen in price, there are others that have become more expensive and those that are yet to come. New information suggests that Intel B760 motherboards will be 10% more expensive than the B660. The COVID pandemic generated a rise in the prices of computers and their components due to the high demand. We have left behind that bad time, but the components and computers have become more expensive. It seems that we are going towards an elitist and highly exclusive market. More expensive mid-range motherboards According to the latest information, Intel motherboards for Raptor Lake processors will become 10% more expensive. Specifically, it is said that motherboards with B760 chipset will be about 10% more expensive than those based on the B660 chipset. The reason would be none other than to differentiate both generations of motherboards, since both support Raptor Lake processors. There are no substantial differences between the two motherboard models, beyond some changes in the PCIe lines. Motherboards with the B760 chipset will have only four PCIe Gen3 lanes, compared to the current eight offered by the B660. On the other hand, it goes from six lanes to ten PCIe 4.0 lanes with the new boards. Note that motherboards with "B-Series" chipset are aimed at the mid-range, making the hardware more accessible. That Intel raises the price of these components does not really make much sense when there are no relevant changes. The increase in PCIe 4.0 lanes is not a substantial improvement that justifies the price. Note that some B660 motherboards natively by BIOS already support Raptor Lake processors. This makes it meaningless to buy a B760 motherboard, being more expensive and contributing little or nothing. Something that in turn creates a problem for motherboard manufacturers, who will have to see how to release these new products. Possibly the feeding phases will be modified, expanding or improving them slightly. You can also choose to expand connectivity, although it is not very interesting either. The most normal thing is that we simply see cosmetic changes in the motherboards. Market burned by launching refried food year after year The hardware market is oversized and very poorly managed. The obsession of launching new components every year has become absurd and we have real aberrations. The clearest case is the NVIDIA RTX 40, more expensive than the previous generation and with excessive consumption. They have shoehorned in different types of cores, without thinking of anything else. It really doesn't make sense to change components every year, or even every two years. The only good thing about consoles is closed hardware that theoretically allows games to be better optimized. It would be nice to slow down the release of components and for the developers to really do their job and optimize the games. It has become an illogical and surreal market that is turning many users away. It seems that computers want to be relegated to work and/or study systems and that only a few "privileged" acquire systems to play and the rest opt for consoles. At least, that's the feeling it gives. https://hardzone.es/noticias/componentes/precio-placa-base-intel-b760/

Jeannette Jara addressed the readjustment in the midst of the paralysis of prosecutors. She also said that La Moneda is working on "some measures that could help the po[CENSORED]tion next year" in economic matters, and asked that "self-lending" of pension funds not "seek to hide another type of withdrawal." The Minister of Labor, Jeannette Jara, referred to the readjustment of the public sector approved this Wednesday by the Chamber of Deputies, which granted 12% to salaries up to $2.2 million and $264,000 for salaries above that amount. In dialogue with Radio Cooperativa, the minister said that "there are no public officials excluded from the readjustment, with the exception of high authorities; what there is is a fiscal box that has refractions." "The crisis has not only reached public workers but the entire country, and understanding this situation, the Executive has made this effort available," Jara said. The statements of the head of Labor occur in the midst of the paralysis of the Association of Prosecutors who accused having been excluded from the readjustment. Financial aid and "self-loan" In other matters, Jara addressed the economic aid in which the Executive is working, and said that "we are working on some measures that could help the po[CENSORED]tion next year, but that is in full design." Ella jara also referred to the pension reform and stated that "at different salary levels, the general conclusion is that taking that 6% from the employer to social security is far more convenient than taking it to individual capitalization." The minister also addressed the debate on the self-loan of pension funds that will be given in Congress and said she hoped that under this figure "no other types of withdrawals are sought to be hidden." https://www.soychile.cl/santiago/sociedad/2022/12/15/790588/ministra-trabajo-funcionarios-excluidos-reajuste.html

(CNN) -- A new study has found evidence that at least one species of dinosaur may have been an expert swimmer, diving into the water like a duck to hunt its prey. The study, published in Communications Biology on December 1, describes a newly discovered species, Natovenator polydontus. This theropod, or hollow-bodied dinosaur with three fingers and claws on each limb, lived in Mongolia during the Late Cretaceous period, between 145 and 66 million years ago. Scientists from Seoul National University, the University of Alberta and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences collaborated on the work. The researchers noted that Natovenator had streamlined ribs, like those of diving birds. "Its body shape suggests that the Natovenator was a potentially swimming predator, and that the streamlined body evolved independently in separate lineages of theropod dinosaurs," the authors wrote. The Natovenator specimen is very similar to Halszkaraptor, another dinosaur discovered in Mongolia, which scientists believe was likely semi-aquatic. But the Natovenator specimen is more complete than the Halszkaraptor, making it easier for scientists to see the streamlined shape of its body. Both the Natovenator and the Halszkaraptor likely used their forearms to propel themselves through the water, the researchers explained. David Hone, a paleontologist and professor at Queen Mary University of London, told CNN that it's hard to say exactly where the Natovenator falls on the spectrum, whether it's entirely terrestrial or entirely aquatic. But the specimen's arms "seem to be quite good at moving in the water," he said. Hone participated in the review of the Communications Biology study. In addition, the Natovenator had dense bones, essential for animals that dive below the surface of the water. As the authors wrote, it had a "relatively hydrodynamic body." Mummified dinosaur skin shows bite marks from an ancient crocodile. The next step, Hone said, would be to model the dinosaur's body shape to help scientists understand exactly how it might have moved. "Was he paddling with his feet, a bit doggy style? How fast could he go?" Subsequent investigations will also need to look at the environment in which the Natovenator lived. The specimen was discovered in the Gobi desert in Mongolia, but there is evidence that lakes and other bodies of water existed in the desert in the past. "There's a real question of, 'Okay, you've got a swimming dinosaur in the desert, what is it swimming in?'" he said. "Finding the fossil record for those lakes is going to be difficult, but sooner or later we may well find one. And when we do, we may find many more of these objects." Nizar Ibrahim, Senior Lecturer in Palaeontology at the University of Portsmouth, whose research work has included findings indicating that Spinosaurus was likely semi-aquatic, told CNN that he is still not entirely convinced by the study's conclusions. He argued that a more rigorous quantitative analysis would have made the findings more convincing. "I would have liked to see, for example, a really robust description of the bone density, the osteohistology of the animal, within a larger data set," he said. "Even the anatomy of the ribs, if they had put that into a bigger picture, the big data set, it would have been helpful." The "anatomical evidence is less direct" for a swimming Natovenator than for a swimming Spinosaurus, he noted. And, like Hone, he too is curious as to exactly what waters the Natovenator might have swum into. "The environment in which this animal was found in Mongolia is exactly the opposite of what you would expect for a water-loving animal," he said. A dinosaur egg found in China intensifies the debate about what caused its disappearance But he hopes the study can help open the door to broader ideas about dinosaur behavior. Until now, dinosaurs were considered strictly terrestrial, but evidence is mounting to suggest that at least some species spent as much time in the water as they did on land. "I'm sure there will be many, many more surprises," Ibrahim said. "And we'll find that dinosaurs were not only around for a long time, but also, you know, they were very diverse and very good at invading new environments." https://cnnespanol.cnn.com/2022/12/04/nueva-especie-dinosaurio-buceado-pato-atrapar-presa-trax/

Toyota Thailand (TMT) is one of Toyota's largest and most important operations in the world, marking 60 years since it was established in 1962. Currently, TMT is run by 14,200 operators and three local plants (Samrong, Gateway and Ban Pho), responsible for the production of the Corolla, Corolla Cross, Yaris, Yaris Ativ, Camry, C-HR and Fortuner, but especially the Hilux pickup truck. In fact, two of these three plants manufacture it due to its high demand. In 2021, the production of these three assemblers resulted in 520 thousand units. To celebrate this milestone, TMT made a special presentation, which was attended by the always charismatic Akio Toyoda and also by Noriaki Yamashita, president of TMT for two years and who commented on the plans to support electromobility so that at least the 30% of the cars marketed will be electric by 2030 in the country, as well as the efforts that have been made, both in the injection of capital for everything that has to do with research and development, as well as to reduce the rates of plant emissions. At the opening of the celebration, Akio Toyoda appeared in front of the public accompanied by a spectacular "tuned" version of the Hilux Revo (in other countries it bears that last name), on the ground, with sports tires, air vents, spoilers and a widening kit. , as if it were a racing truck. "Hello to all my friends in Thailand. Because this is such an important occasion, I thought I should make as dramatic an entrance as possible. So I borrowed this super-prepared Hilux van from one of our clients. How about it? As you should You may have noticed, I don't just like cars... I love them! And I like nothing more than seeing our customers enjoy them as much as I do. So I want to thank all the customers in Thailand who take our products and turn them into really amazing things." Immediately afterwards, he invites the owner of the truck to the stage and "throws the stick" at him: "hopefully he will sell it to me." He then told some adventures of what were the beginnings of TMT and thanked the royal family of Thailand for their support. He spoke of the Soluna, which was the first car developed by TMT and also of the 2002 Hilux Vigo (IMV project), a project that he himself promoted when he was not yet the president of Toyota and that catapulted the production of the Hilux truck in Thailand. And this is where the good stuff comes in... The good Toyoda introduced two important models that will be talked about both for Thailand and for markets where the Hilux is relevant. The first model is the IMV 0, a tribute to the original IMV project and consisting of a retro-futuristic style van, but designed to be very versatile, whether as a lifestyle or work vehicle. The IMV 0, according to Toyoda, is designed to support economic growth and mobility for all, so it can be deduced that it does not appear to be a 100% electric model. It will debut in another year. On the other side of the stage, the surprise: the new Hilux BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) Concept, based on a single-cab Hilux, but with a sealed grille, a huge charging port and a chassis that shows something that could be the batteries. This is a prototype model and it is very much in line with the hydrogen version that is being tested elsewhere. https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2022/12/15/toyota-hilux-electrica-sorprende-en-celebracion-de-los-60-anos-de-toyota-tailandia

"We ask the MOP to clarify this point soon and find out if there are ongoing conversations with the companies," said the National Confederation of Truck Owners. A couple of weeks ago, concern about the high readjustment of toll and TAG prices on the country's highways and routes has been taking place among citizens, which would be effective as of January 1. This week the concessionaires should publish the tariff adjustments, which consider the inflation accumulated in 12 months until November. Therefore, this increase takes on special relevance this year in a context of the strong increase in prices that is hitting Chile. So far in 2022, inflation has accumulated 12.5% and 13.3% in the last twelve months (as of November). This last figure is the one that should generally be reflected in the tolls. Faced with this situation, the Minister of Public Works Juan Carlos García, at the beginning of December, said he was "in permanent dialogue with the concessionaires who have to submit their proposal to us and, based on that, we will evaluate the measures to be implemented. We are still in deadline for it." Thus, during this time several and intense meetings have been held between the concessionaire companies and the MOP to define the increase that highway tolls would have from 2023. According to El Mercurio, the MOP has asked the concessionaires to make efforts to that the blow not be so hard, asking that the increase be carried out in parcels or fractions during the next year. And now, truckers are pressing to communicate soon what will be decided in this regard. In a statement, the National Confederation of Truck Owners (CNDC) expressed its "concern over the official silence regarding the increases in toll rates that will be in force from next January 1." "We ask the MOP to clarify this point soon and find out if there are ongoing conversations with the companies that manage the roads that lead to applying minor readjustments. It is necessary to make the above transparent," he added. Finally, they argued that "it must be taken into account that urban highways increased their profits by 60% in the third quarter and that the income of the concessionaires increased by almost 30% in the same period, only due to greater movement of vehicles. Without However, these firms are not required to apply the maximum legal readjustment". "It is of utmost importance that the authority and the companies themselves warn that applying the maximum to which the law authorizes them means transferring the highest inflation of the last 30 years to the entire logistics chain and to consumers. Not taking this fact into account is in practice a virtual invitation to an explosion on the roads", he concluded. https://www.emol.com/noticias/Economia/2022/12/15/1081109/camionerios-reajuste-peajes-tag.html
