  2. Text by Carlos Cristófalo Photos by Vito Cristófalo and Renato Tarditti The best-selling Renault in Argentina is the Kwid. But, if we added hatchback and sedan versions - as Toyota does with Etios -, that first place in the Rombo ranking would be for the Sandero / Logan duo. It is a duo that now became a triad: from the restyling that has just been presented, the adventurous version Sandero Stepway was renamed as an independent model. So are the Sandero, Logan and Stepway 2020 (see equipment and prices). In Autoblog we handle the top-of-the-range version of the Logan: Intens CVT of 975,500 pesos for one week. The full review is reproduced below. OUT Do you remember the first Dacia Logan? It was announced in Europe in 2003, with the promise of offering “a car of 5,000 euros”. In return, the Logan would offer a sedan of undeniable low-cost aesthetics: three "square boxes" well square, to differentiate the space for the engine, the passenger compartment and the trunk. The price promise was never fulfilled - in the different markets where it is sold, with both the Dacia and Renault brands, the Logan ranges between 9 thousand and 15 thousand euros - but the aesthetic decision remained untouched. Even in this second generation and with the restyling just released - Renult calls it Logan II Phase 2 - this sedan is still a fairly square car. It is true that the edges of the tube and tail were softened, but the aerodynamic coefficient is not its strong point: it has a Cx of 0.40. In this Phase 2, the Logan II launches new headlights with LED daytime running lights, a front bumper with larger lower air intake, rear LED optics and new tire designs. This Intens CVT version is the only one that comes with 16-inch diamond wheels, paved with Bridgestone Turanza 205 / 55R16. The other versions come with 15 ”wheels. But what most attracts attention is its new “Stepway” aesthetic. The Logan 2020 adopted the most successful adventurer philosophy of the Sandero, which now achieved its own independence. The sedan received fenders with black plastic edges and sockets in the same material. It has a floor clearance of 179 millimeters. It is not as much as what the new manual Stepway (207 mm) offers, but it is enough to travel some roads in poor condition, without hitting the lower part of the vehicle. The Logan with manual gearbox (before and now) have a clearance of 169 mm. The CVT Stepway has the same as this Logan CVT: 179 mm. The difference, as seen, is not only established by the "adventurous" aesthetic. It also depends on the transmission, since the manual box is more bulky and needs more clearance to protect it. The need for the Logan CVT to be higher was the origin of the birth of this "Stepway" version. The Logan is a sedan of Segment B (boy) and is positioned among the most po[CENSORED]r models on the market. Among its current competitors in the Argentine market we will mention only the only two others that come with series stability control (ESP): Toyota Etios Sedan (with automatic transmission, from 965 thousand pesos) and Ford Ka Sedán (with automatic transmission, from 983 thousand pesos). INSIDE Inside, the changes in this Phase 2 are minor. With respect to the Logan II pre-restyling, it opens a new steering wheel design (with details in satin plastic and larger rhombus), new upholsteries (this Intens version has dark synthetic leather, with white stitching) and changed the air conditioning command, because It is now a climate control: single zone, although with good operation. In these years, the manufacturing quality of the Logan greatly improved. It is still an accessible vehicle with economic materials - all hard plastics - but the finishes improved and many rough edges disappeared. The satin plastic, which in the previous Logan framed the multimedia equipment and the internal door handles, was now replaced by a black “piano black” type plastic. The multimedia screen is still a bit low (away from the driver's view) and maintains the pre-restyling size: seven inches. It is the Media Evolution, which until now only accepted Android Auto. From this Phase 2 it also works with Apple CarPlay. Beyond that, the Logan's hallmark remains intact: the cabin is huge, with capacity for five adults. And the trunk is also very generous: 510 liters of capacity. Although here the Etios Sedan beats him, with its 562 liters. Under the floor of the trunk there is bad news: temporary help wheel. When in use, it cannot be circulated at more than 80 km / h. Of course, there is plenty of room to store a wheel of the same size as the four holders. With so much volume of cargo, the option of this aid is incomprehensible and only leads to a possible "cost savings". SECURITY Here is some good news for these Sandero, Logan and Stepway 2020: all CVT versions come with stability control (ESP) as standard. Until now, this vital security device was only offered by the sports version: Sandero RS (read review). Autoblog recommends buying only versions with ESP. In addition, all these models also come standard with four airbags (two front and two front sides). Until now, they had only two airbags. In this way, a consistency of range is achieved with the Kwid which, being cheaper, has already offered four series airbags for two years (although still without ESP, read criticism). The last time the Logan and Sandero were subjected to an independent crash test was in June 2018. At that time, LatinNCAP evaluated units with only two airbags: they obtained a star in adult protection and three in children. It would be interesting to know the performance of these new Phase 2 versions, especially since Renault says that “14 kilos of structural reinforcements” were added, in an attempt to improve the results in crash tests. MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION There are also many new features here. As of this Phase 2, all the Sandero, Logan and Stepway that are sold in Argentina adopted the same engine: the veterans K7M and K4M were replaced by the HR16 1.6 16v SCe, which the Captur and Nuevo Kangoo have been using for a long time one year. It has 115 horsepower and 156 Nm of torque. Also, for the first time in Argentina, there are versions with automatic transmission. The Sandero Intens, Stepway Intens and Logan Intens can be equipped with a five-speed manual transmission or an automatic continuous variator (CVT), with six preprogrammed gears. The traction is still forward. BEHAVIOR In Autoblog we are not big fans of CVT boxes and this case will not be the exception. Continuous drive systems usually deliver more noise than reactions, when they are required a little. This is most noticeable when operating on low torque engines. However, automakers continue to choose this technology, because it is cheaper. Therefore, it should be noted that Toyota and Ford continue to offer boxes with torque converter (much more pleasant in operation) in their Etios and Ka. Beyond those reactions and strange noises of this set, Renault's bet is understood: in urban use, any automatic gearbox - even if it is a painful CVT - makes handling much easier and reduces stress. En route, however, you will have to exercise a little more patience. With the sequential mode of the lever, which activates the six preprogrammed gears, no major changes are noticed. It barely serves to "realize that" one has more control over the transmission. Even so, the benefits are reasonable: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 172 km / h. The average consumption seemed somewhat high for this 1.6 engine: 9.1 liters per 100 kilometers. Luckily, the tank is 50 liters. By capacity of trunk and interior space, the Logan is usually a very used car to travel. He did not lose that quality. The engine response on long trips is good, without excelling in any aspect. At 120 km / h, the engine works at 2,500 rpm. The suspensions are soft and the steering (with electro-hydraulic assistance) is also very light. It is appreciated in the city. On the way, however, you will notice a vehicle sensitive to lateral winds and that does not like sudden maneuvers: it tilts a lot in the curves. Luckily, stability control acts correctly and provides an extra dose of security. It is highly valued. And what is the adventurous aesthetic for everyday? It serves to easily overcome the usual obstacles in our cities: potholes, gads, ditches, donkey loins and other geomunicipal accidents. And is it also for off-road? More on that, in conclusion. CONCLUSION The Renault Logan was always one of the most rational cars on the market. Nobody bought it for aesthetics or for its great features. It was always a low-cost product, whose main virtue lay a large interior space, in exchange for a more or less accessible price. With this Logan II Phase II, Renault maintains that commitment, with a significant improvement in safety. In this version Intens CVT, with stability control (ESP), it can even be a recommended purchase. However, for many, all that will remain in the background when you see the curious adventurous design of this version. It looks like a Logan Stepway. Then, we return to the question in the previous section.
  3. Fifty hectares of organic farming, the equivalent of 100 soccer fields, is what a well-known niche beauty products firm needs to produce the essential oil with which it formulates its best selling line. "Exploiting a natural resource, certified or not, to obtain a small amount of raw material many times, is not at all sustainable. Let us only think about water consumption and soil wear," reflects the pharmacist Héctor Núñez, known as' Cosmetocritic ', the alias used in social networks. Master in cosmetics, opened the account on Instagram last December because he was tired of the profiles that spoke without having a specific training, and "the bad press that was being done to conventional cosmetics", which is not necessarily less sustainable than the 'natural'. Amparo Violera is another professional who has gained followers denying bulos. If a natural asset has its synthetic twin, says this scientist, it is most likely more sustainable to synthesize it in the laboratory than to extract it from nature and purify it. "With hyaluronic acid it happens. Luckily, it is not common for it to be extracted from the crests of roosters, but rather to be produced biotechnologically in reactors with the help of transgenic bacteria," he says. Apoem is one of the brands that bet on biotechnology and prefer to obtain its ingredients through processes such as fermentation or cell culture. Organic is their second option, "but whenever it is second life, that is, that they are not cultivated ex professed for the skin, but that they are a byproduct of the food industry," explains its R&D director, María del Mar Arasa "Biotechnology is the future," insists Ana Santamarina. Natural cosmetics formulator, defends that being truly sustainable would also mean adhering to green chemistry, "because certain types of chemical reactions should be avoided and formulated with few ingredients, among many other things. On the other hand, we should take into account the conditions to which workers are subjected: micas and clays can come from Third World countries and have them collected by young children. " Almost the same as we told you about climate feeding at the beginning of this issue. Plastics emit less CO2 in transport Although there are also other good options, with the jars there are certain paradoxes. As the cosmetologist Eva Raya, co-founder of Alice in Beautyland, explains, although plastic is one of the worst-seen materials, it is also lighter, which reduces CO2 emissions. "Some apparently more recyclable containers are not so harmless with the transmission of particles to the product, and certain forms of packaging that were used in the past would not pass the sanitary controls that are required today," Raya points out. Núñez talks about the fashion of sugarcane boats, which are still plastic, only obtained from this plant. For him, one of the questions you should ask yourself is if the cosmetic we are going to buy needs packaging. "That is another option: look for cosmetics that dispense with secondary conditioning or if they carry it at least made of recycled cardboard […]. It is true that airless type dosing systems protect the formula of our dirty claws, but it is almost impossible to recycle them, so a simple plug doesn't seem like such a bad idea. " When the Lush brand uses packaging - it sells cosmetics already without them - it uses recycled or organic, recyclable, compostable or reusable fiber materials. In 2016 they were looking for an alternative to solid shampoos (they are served in metal boxes) when they contacted Eco Intervention, a non-profit group whose objective is to educate the inhabitants of the Portuguese Alentejo in the sustainable exploitation of forests. In exchange for the cork boxes of these pills (equivalent to three bottles of shampoo), Lush donates five euros to help reforestation. "We knew that cork was a material capable of sequestering greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, but when we studied it in depth we realized that one of our boxes was capable of removing more CO2 than it emitted in its life cycle. We are talking about containers that literally fight against climate change, "explain Simon Brewer and Ben Davis, from the Lush Environmental Impact team. The cork boxes were moved from Portugal to Dorset (southwest England) on a Dutch sailboat. "Rather than being a nostalgic and beautiful way of transporting goods, sailing could be an emission-free alternative that is worth using again," said Agnes Gendry, of the Ethical Purchase team of the English company. Chartering a sloop is much less polluting, of course, but there are less striking and effective measures: the fields and factories of Yves Rocher are within a radius of 30 kilometers within La Gacilly (Brittany), where they manage to manufacture 89% of their production. All the electricity they consume is obtained from renewable energy sources; The luxury cosmetic Sisley plant in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône (France), integrates on the roof the largest photovoltaic plant north of the Loire, 36,000 square meters that allow them to stop emitting about 44 tons of CO2 every year . You can't know how organic your cream is by the label Knowing the true sustainability of beauty products is a real mess. To be strict, it implies much more than knowing with what materials the container is manufactured and, of course, if the origin of its ingredients is natural or artificial (which does not help much). "It is a matter of extreme difficulty because we have to take into account the entire life cycle of cosmetic products, from what we can do with what we already have in our hands: Can it be recycled and reused? Does it contaminate water? What has been done during its manufacture and distribution? What and how much energy has been used? Was the waste managed? Where and how was the product transported? ", Violero says, adding:" Before its manufacture It would be necessary to question where the ingredients come from, if renewable sources or working conditions are used.Assessing a product in a store without an active collaboration by the company that manufactures it is simply impossible.Recall that they have no legal obligation to share with the consumer its internal policies or processes, although more and more are those that transmit their philosophies with an intention of transparency and connection with their client ". So you also work for sustainability. Since last year, L'Oréal Spain can boast of being neutral in carbon emissions in all its production, distribution and office centers. The factory where they produce hair products, in Burgos, is the first "dry factory" of the group: there the use of fresh water is only conceived as raw material and for human consumption, the rest is reused. A few weeks ago they presented the report in which they collected the green achievements achieved to date, and took the opportunity to announce the creation of a system that analyzes the social and environmental profile during the entire life cycle of their cosmetics. It is the sustainable product optimization tool or SPOT, for its acronym in English. "The Spanish consumer is becoming more aware and more informed, so we have a responsibility to be transparent," said the Director of Sustainability of l'Oréal Spain, Íñigo Larraya. Those interested in the traceability of Guerlain products access the information from the QR codes of the brand's website. The company founded
  4. Dilan Cruz collapsed before the eyes of the crowd. He was struck by an artifact that shot, straight in the head, a black armor policeman. His death was recorded, and Dilan is now a symbol of a cause: the dissolution of the special force that represses protests in Colombia. In a week of demonstrations against the government of Iván Duque, the Mobile Anti-Riot Squadron (Esmad) concentrates the anger of young people in the streets, following what happened with his 18-year-old companion, injured by an agent of that body Police on Saturday. "Dilan did not die, Dilan was killed," protesters sang to the rhythm of pans as soon as the hospital that attended him issued the last medical part, on Monday night. Since then in the streets it is claimed for the dissolution of Esmad, the special force created 20 years ago to control riots, crowds and blockades. Before, it was the military and other police forces that were responsible for this task under the state of exception that ruled regularly in the country before the explosion of guerrilla groups in the sixties. Esmad has been questioned since its origin for its excesses. "In this last demonstration ... the action has been totally disproportionate," lawyer Daniela Rodríguez, of the Movement of Victims of State Crimes (Movice), tells AFP. Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch (HRW) and the Ombudsman (Ombudsman) denounced the excessive use of the force of Esmad during the marches that began on November 21. Colombia got on the train of social unrest that travels the continent after the outbursts in Ecuador (10 dead), Bolivia (33 dead) and Chile (23 dead). The country that gravitated around the armed conflict with the FARC for half a century, the guerrillas that signed the peace three years ago, opens up to a new reality: that of social pressure without the stigma of subversion. Not lethal? Dilan Cruz was badly injured in downtown Bogotá and his agony was recorded in cell phone videos that circulated on social networks. A thread of blood ran along the pavement. "What is that?" Is heard saying behind the back of paramedics. An object wrapped in a white cloth was embedded in the skull of the student
  5. WHAT IS IT ?: It is the new generation of the Chevrolet hatchback and sedan for Segment B (boy). They replace the old Onix and Prisma, which were cheaper and renamed Joy, to remain as entry-level models (see equipment and prices). The new Onix (five-door hatchback) and Onix Plus (four-door sedan) premiere the GEM Platform, developed in partnership between GM and the Chinese Saic, to create a new range of models that will also soon be produced at Mercosur. They arrive imported from Brazil and are already on sale in our market. MECHANICAL: They release a new family of engines, all gasoline, with three cylinders and four valves per cylinder: 1.2 atmospheric (90 hp and 115 Nm) and 1.0 turbo (116 hp and 160 Nm). Five-speed manual gearbox (with 1.2 and 1.0T engines) or six-speed automatic (1.0T only). Front-wheel drive. THE MOST: The safety equipment. They come standard with six airbags and stability control (ESP). The Onix and Onix Plus achieved the highest rating in the LatinNCAP crash tests: five stars in adult and child protection (see crash tests). AT LEAST: The launch in Brazil was overshadowed by an early recall. All the units produced received an update of the engine software, following the fire of an Onix Plus (see official explanation). The units for the Argentine market already arrive with that software update. THE DETAIL: The two bodies are offered with five levels of equipment each. The characteristics of the equipment of each version, the data of the mechanics and even the functions of the OnStar system are in the technical file to download (there are four sheets of spreadsheets with data). This note will be updated over the next few hours, with the prices of the rest of the versions. Three year warranty or 100 thousand kilometers.
  6. Recently, documenting myself for an article, I came up with a statement from the designer Thierry Mugler in which I confessed that, if after abandoning fashion I had transformed his appearance through surgery and bodybuilding until it became unrecognizable, it had been to erase his face and body previous, and in passing everything that entailed. Surgery as a catharsis, as a tabula rasa or as an extreme purification force is one of the central obsessions of transhumanism, which is that theory that states that the body is obsolete and that transforming it is the only way to adapt. Are Snapchat beauty filters a way to make time until the surgeon's bell rings? I don't know if Mugler is very interested in transhumanism, but I do know that he is from the same generation as his compatriot Orlan, an artist who has been reshaping his face for decades to turn him into sculptures through surgical interventions that he films and distributes as pieces of video art Orlan has always been very controversial. So is singer Grimes. This summer Adidas asked her to talk about her care routine and she, naturally, of cyborg, explained that she had just replaced the outer layer of her cornea with a polymer membrane designed by herself and by her boyfriend, the ineffable Elon Musk. The goal, he said, was to filter the blue light to avoid depression. She stayed so wide and oculists from half the world entered the quite to say that it was idiocy. Grimes did not mention it again and we still don't know if his thing was confession or performance. What is clear is that today we are much more receptive to permanently alter our appearance through surgery or through social networks, although I still do not know if one excludes the other. Are Snapchat beauty filters or a way to make time until the surgeon's bell rings? Around the world, celebrities and influencers swarm around their faces to make them look like 3D software renders. I recognize that those faces of minimal (or nonexistent) eyebrows, porcelain lips and slightly alien features due to the work and grace of contouring hypnotize me as Kaa to Mowgli. Sometimes, when I agree with one of them, I think that transhumanism is already here. Other times I opt for an equally attractive theory: that the dolly faces of beauty boys, the cheekbones of the Kardashian and the Tupés and the beards of the Mediaset quarries are cosmetic fashions, such as dark circles and greñas among the romantics of the 19th century or rice powders and wigs among the courtiers of the XVIII. There is a whole thesis on the subject in the Casanova de Fellini. Donald Sutherland, the protagonist actor, caught an anger of fifteen when he saw that they were going to deform his face with prostheses until he made him look like a giant of Burgos. But Fellini convinced him (only halfway) explaining that this was the story of a man unable to live without artifice. Casanova was a son of his time. Like everyone

A few days after finishing his administration and without having received signals from the future leaders of the Ministry of Defense, Oscar Aguad granted an interview to Infobae in which he made a management balance and referred to the role of the UCR in Cambiemos. As a militant and radical leader, how do you observe your party after the government experience within the Let's Change front? - Fortified by this management, since it was reunited with that wide strip of society that historically felt represented by radicalism. The recovery of the republican system, the independence of the Judiciary and the transparency of government acts, have always been a priority for radicalism. But without a doubt the balance is positive. Change of course? -When I talk about a change of course, I mean the possibility of seeing reality as it is and without ideological prejudices. The populism that hit the country for so many years ignores the problems, hides or disguises them and consequently never solves them. This is due to the systematic delay of Argentina in the last 70 years. Macri put reality on the table creating the conditions for the country to produce at least what it consumes. Under that deficit lies underdevelopment and poverty, there is hidden inflation and trade imbalance, the lack of a solid currency, the unbearable tax pressure and all other reasons that prevented creating employment and eradicating poverty. But the results of the management have not been as expected ... -If management is projected in the medium and long term, the results are highly positive. First of all because we know what the problems are, then because many of those problems have been solved. To give an example, the balance in the political system was recovered, the functioning of the institutions was recovered, public spending was reduced by 7%, press freedom was guaranteed, the fiscal deficit was reduced by more than 6 points and The government's current account ends with a surplus. If it fails in the first two objectives, the third is unfeasible. 9. "You are officially older if you remember to use a pencil to rewind tapes" or that "one night's plan was ruined when you went to Blockbuster and the movie you wanted was already rented." You are officially older if you recognize yourself in the sly occurrences that the tweeters leave in hashtags such as #youareofficiallyoldif - or one of their Spanish versions, # eresdemasiadomayor - Grace is true, and the technology gap is responsible for the most jokes funny and the most apolillados laments. This is reflected in a survey by the British brand of food supplements Future You, in which 2,000 people detailed the 50 signs that make us feel older. The joke of the cassette and, in general, the technological gap, is one of the things that open our eyes to the unstoppable advance of our body's programmed obsolescence. "Having co-workers so young that they don't know what a tape is" is frustrating, but it is even more "not knowing how to use devices such as tablets or smart TVs" or "having a smartphone and not knowing how to do it more than call ", are some of the examples included in the list. Beyond the fact of not being up to date with the latest devices and thinking that everything in another era was better, there are other signs that make us feel older. The first sign on the list is "forgetting people's names" and it is also (in seventh position) the classic of not knowing where the keys or glasses have been left. Respondents agree that "having more hair in the nose, eyebrows and ears," "avoid taking weight so that your back does not hurt," "getting sick more often," "feeling tired from the moment you get up" or "Talking too much about joint problems" are some of the things that remind us that we get older. Old age, a subjective issue? The average age at the door knocks on this type of uncomfortable situations - or hilarious, for those who do not know that the future holds a new generation that will not know what Spotify is - is, according to the survey, 41 years, although it is not the 57 when respondents say they feel, as the hashtag says, "officially older." But 57 (or 60, 67 ...) is just a figure. The concept of old age, maturity or seniority, call it what you want, changes with age. From the age of 30, with the arrival of each new decade, we look back and reassess our ideas about what it means to be older, the conclusions of an investigation published in 2018 in the journal Frontiers in Psychology point out. We can take the opportunity to feel younger inside. On the outside, there is no debate or reflection to stop the clock. Science indicates that the flower of life is in the twenties and our body begins to suffer the changes that leave youth behind in the thirties. From here everything is dramatic: the lens loses flexibility and the ability to focus is less and less, the taste and smell suffer, we lose muscle and gain fat, the hair starts to fall ... At 40, in case It was not uncommon, it is not uncommon to start feeling tired, we lose even more muscle mass, the skin begins to burn out and wrinkles stop being small lines of expression to become increasingly marked grooves (the mirror does not say it, but the face with which the bisoños companions of your children look at you). With the arrival of the 50, menopause and men reach the menopause, andropause, as a result of low testosterone levels (after 30 lose 1% of this hormone annually). Tranquility. The list of real signs of old age is increasing year after year, and we cannot control it. What we can do is age better, something as simple as eating a healthy and balanced diet, and exercising regularly. In addition, the scientific literature points out another determining factor, subjective age: how we feel about our age. Thus, feeling older or younger than we are determines how we behave towards life and even influences our health. Would all those people who, in their 40s, go jogging in the Retreat three times a week if they feel old-fashioned? No. In addition, the science of longevity has revealed that those who feel younger enjoy better mental health and have a lower risk of suffering from depression, while those who are considered older for their age increase their risk of suffering various diseases, including which highlight the cardiovascular.
  10. After the United States Justice refused to review the case of Victor Hugo Saldaño, the Argentine sentenced to death in Texas for the crime of a merchant in 1995, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) urged the government of that country to "comply with the recommendations issued in relation to human rights" and commute the sentence. In addition, they requested that he be transferred from the “death row”, a Houston prison known by that name in which he is staying. As reported by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the IACHR's statement occurs prior to Saldaño's presentation before the US Supreme Court, where the agency has a certain expectation: “It constitutes an essential opportunity to comply with the recommendations of the 24/17 Merits Report that the Commission elaborated and which concludes that the United States is responsible for violating the rights to life, freedom and security, integrity, equality before the law, a fair trial, protection against arbitrary detention, and the right to a process regular by Víctor Saldaño ”. Prior to this statement, there was a meeting in Quito, Ecuador, which was attended by representatives of the State Department, the lawyer of Víctor Saldaño, Juan Carlos Vega, and also representatives of the Argentine State as observers. "The United States is subject to international obligations derived from the Charter of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man since he joined the OAS in 1951," said the IACHR. For its part, the Foreign Ministry said: “Argentina participates in the international proceeding before the IACHR and in the internal proceedings before the Supreme Court of the United States, as amicus curiae, in defense of Saldaño's life, within the framework of the multiple actions carried out by our country in defense of the life of our national for more than 20 years and that respond to the traditional position of Argentina in the fight against the death penalty ”. Days ago, Juan Carlos Vega had anticipated that the IACHR was the only possibility left for his client to avoid the death penalty: “The only sentence (which could favor his client) is that of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, That the American state does not want to comply. No rule of domestic law of that country can be used to suspend or neutralize the operational validity and binding legal value of the Report of the IACHR 76/16 ”. To support his argument, the lawyer explained that there are 13 American countries that support the right of victims in this case: Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Paraguay The defendant's mother, Lidia Guerrero, also spoke after the possibility of execution was imminent and criticized the US legal system: “You know what you are doing, it is no longer about the opinion of a mother. They are responsible for the decision they make. It was verified how the Texas system operates to apply the death penalty. Whether or not the United States ignores it, it is their responsibility and everyone knows what they are doing. ” The case Víctor Saldaño was sentenced to death twice by the Texas Justice, for the murder of Paul Ray King, a computer salesman who was murdered in November 1995 with a Mexican accomplice, Jorge Chavez, to steal a watch and $ 50 on the outskirts of the city of Plano. One of those rulings was annulled by the Supreme Court of the United States, after proving that a racist criterion was used to pass the sentence. Consequently, the highest court ordered the judiciary of the southern state to make a new trial that was not vitiated. However, Saldaño was convicted and sentenced to death again. At that time the mental health of the Argentine was already completely devastated, after having spent nine years in conditions of extreme isolation. For this reason, his legal defense unsuccessfully requested that he be transferred to a neuropsychiatric hospital.

  12. Between 1989 and 1991, BMW manufactured a roadster with a plastic body. It was called Z1 and was the precursor of a long family of two-seater convertibles, known as Z3, Z4 and Z8. Until recently, in Argentina there were only two copies of Z1. They belonged to Diego Maradona and actor Ricardo Darín. It is a very rare model to see, since 8,000 units were manufactured, of which some 6,500 remained in Germany. However, there are now three in our country. This newly entered specimen arrived through the repatriation system (see how the procedure is done). That is why he received a new "AD" patent. His public debut was days ago, during the event that Track Day Argentina organized at the Autodromo de Buenos Aires. The photos published here were sent to info@autoblog.com.ar by JuanT, Autoblog's paparazzo. The Z1 has a six-cylinder in-line engine, with 2.5 liters of displacement, 168 horsepower and 222 Nm of torque. It is combined with a five-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The plastic body allowed it to have a fairly contained weight: 1,250 kilos. Almost as heavy as the entire body, however, was its complex system of retractable doors. When they touched the button on the lock, they hid in the lower part of the body. It was a complex and heavy system, although it had a great reward: it allowed to drive the Z1 with the doors "open."
  13. It seems that it is not necessary to demonstrate that the food industry has the secret formula to design irresistible flavors, of those that make one bite take us to the next, no matter how much we want to avoid it. After the books and documentaries that have pointed to the existence of this knowledge, it is a capacity that is practically taken for granted; After all, everyone knows what it costs to stop eating some chips or a piece of pizza after the first bite. But scientific analyzes had not proposed the formula with which so much flavor can be achieved so far. Small studies and experiments have been done that point out that a certain combination of fats and salt can increase the palatability of a food up to 30%, which is its quality to be pleasant to the palate. And, last year, a neuroimaging work concluded that high-fat and carbohydrate meals strongly activate the reward brain circuits, the mechanism that drives us to eat to survive. Now, in an interesting step forward, researchers from the University of Kansas, in the United States (USA), have proposed a way to detect these hyperpalatable foods just by looking at the composition on the nutritional label (or from a database of food composition). The new work, which has been published in Obesity magazine, identifies three food groups that are distinguished by their proportions of fat, sodium, sugar and carbohydrates. According to the study, hyperpalatability appears when more than 20% of calories come from fat and many others from sugar; when more than 25% of the calories come from fat and 0.3% of the product's weight, or more, is sodium; and when more than 40% of the calories come from carbohydrates and the sodium content is equal to or greater than 0.2%. Among them are cakes, cereals, some meat products, pizza, pasta and salty snacks, but there are also surprises. The hyperpalatability of arugula and carrot The text of the new work describes as "immense" the contribution of hyperpalatable foods to increase the risk of obesity, because, the authors argue, make us eat more and relax the physiological mechanisms that warn us that we are satiated. With the damage to health that this disease entails, it seems sensible to conclude that it is necessary to limit them. But, although it is positive to have the ability to detect food that, in addition to having a poor nutritional profile, can make diners consume more than the bill, the new work provides enough nuances to think twice. If you apply the parameters of the three groups of hyperpalatable foods to the products you put in the shopping cart, you will come to surprising conclusions such as sweets, bacon, a hamburger and a pizza are among them. But you will also get less predictable results, such as avocado and roasted potatoes are within the definition proposed by scientists. Arugula, because of its sodium content and rich in carbohydrates, is also hyperpalatable, according to this definition. The categories are so open that 62% of the 7,700 foods that the researchers analyzed, which are part of a database that reflects the food commonly consumed in the US, fit into at least one of the groups. The majority - 70% - meet the criteria of combining fat and sugar, 25% enter the fat and sodium and only 16% belong to carbohydrates and sodium. Scientists recognize that limiting so many foods is not possible, and point out that many times they do not justify their hyperpalatability by themselves. Many times it is the way of cooking or processing the food that makes them hyperpalatable: 81% of 478 meals selected for their ingredients had been prepared, at a minimum, in a way that made it meet the definition of hyperpalatable. A large part of them could have been cooked without the synergy between nutrients that makes the flavor much more attractive than what each would provide separately. A clear example is the carrot glazed and cooked with butter.
  14. The general director of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), Yuri Ganus, said Monday that the World Anti-Doping Agency intends to impose "serious sanctions" on Russian sport. "The final list of sanctions will be known on December 9 and these, in any case, will be quite serious," Ganus told Tass. The World Anti-Doping Agency will meet that day in Paris to examine the ongoing process against the Russian Anti-Doping Agency. On September 23, the AMA announced an investigation due to doubts about the authenticity of the data collected at the Moscow Laboratory, alluding to a possible mani[CENSORED]tion of the doping tests, and gave Russia three weeks to respond to these allegations. Russia sent a letter to WADA on October 8 with clarifications to 31 points that the international organization had put on the table. However, according to some information, Russia would have provided the AMA with an incomplete report and had only answered 23 questions. The RUSADA was suspended four years ago between accusations of state doping, which conditioned the participation of Russian athletes in the Rio 2016 Games, and after its rehabilitation with conditions in September 2018, the AMA had access to the samples preserved in the Russian laboratory to reexamine those that aroused suspicion. If the current suspicions of the AMA are confirmed, Russia could be excluded from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, as well as the Winter games that will be held in Beijing in 2022. Russian athletes, however, will be able to compete as they did during the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang under a neutral flag. With it, athletes will not represent their country or sing their anthem if they get the medal. This background in South Korea came after WADA has reported a thousand cases of doping in various sports mostly during the Winter Games in Sochi (2014). For his part, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, called not to draw hasty conclusions and wait for "concrete results" from the investigation of the global anti-doping authorities. "The Russian sports authorities are in contact with the global sports community and the AMA," he said quoted by RIA Nóvosti.
