  1. Hope you're doing well. I've been waiting to hear back about my GFX Designer application for over 72 hours now, but it seems like the person in charge is MIA. I get that things can get crazy, but you are expecting activity and seriosity from us so I expect the same from you. So, I'm gonna have to pull the plug on my application. No hard feelings, I only respect myself and if I don't see interest on your part, then I'm not going to do more of my part. If someone does emerge from the void and wants to chat about my application, they can reach me on PM. Thanks for the potential opportunity, and good luck with the GFX project.

  10. US chipmaker Micron Technology on Saturday organised a groundbreaking ceremony at the Sanand industrial area of Gujarat to flag off the construction of the new semiconductor testing and packaging plant in Sanand, Gujarat. The US chipmaker has tied with Tata Projects for the facility, which is slated to be built with a $2.75-billion investment in the first phase. The company also said it has started the recruitment process for the new plant.PM Narendra Modi signed the agreement with Micron during his US visit on June 22. The semiconductor firm will be investing $825 million in Gujarat over a period of seven years to construct the facility which will come up in two phases. The combined investment of $2.75 billion is projected to create around 5,000 direct jobs and offer 15,000 community job opportunities over the next five years. “This new manufacturing site will be an invaluable addition to Micron’s existing global assembly and test footprint. Micron selected Tata Projects to construct our new facility,” said Gursharan Singh, senior vice-president, Micron Technology while speaking at the event at Sanand. A formal agreement was signed between Micron and Tata Projects during the ceremony.“Our new site of 1.4 million square feet facility including 500,000 square feet of clean room is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. We expect to operationalise the facility by then,” he added. About 50 per cent of the total cost of setting up this facility will be borne by the central government, while 20 per cent of the cost will be given in the form of various reliefs by the state government. The Assembly, Test, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) of the company is being set up on a 93 acre land in Sanand GIDC-II industrial estate. “Micron expects Phase-2 of the project which will include construction of a facility similar to that of Phase-1. Micron’s investment will be USD 825 million over the two phases of the project and we will create 5,000 new direct jobs here in Sanand and 15,000 community jobs over the next several jobs,” Singh told the audience where Union minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw and his colleague Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel were presentThe company said the project encompasses the design and construction of a first-of-its-kind DRAM (dynamic random access memory) and NAND (non-volatile flash memory) assembly and test facility in India. Tata Projects aims to use modern construction methods and techniques involving integrated EPC delivery through 4D BIM and hybrid modular accelerated construction, it added. According to a statement issued by the company, the Sanand factory will be designed in accordance with LEED Gold Standards of the Green Building Council and will also integrate advanced water-saving technologies. "Today we are doing bhoomi pujan within 90 days. This is the speed of a double-engine sarkaar," Vaishnaw added, referring to the BJP governments at the Centre and state working together. MoS for electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said after the announcement of the semiconductor vision by the PM and the planned investment of Rs 76,000 crore to catalyse and build India's semicon ecosystem, much progress had been made in the past 18 months. "This is a big milestone in India's roadmap and growth as a Semiconductor Nation," Chandrasekhar said. It is a “decadal opportunity” that will also see growth and investment in the complex supply chain needed to support a semiconductor ecosystem, he added, and India is globally becoming a trusted partner.“For the digital economy's target of being 20 per cent of GDP in the coming years, tomorrow’s ground-breaking represents a big milestone,” he said. “We will achieve in the next ten years what countries to our north have taken 20-25 years and spent $200 billion and not succeeded.” Meanwhile, Union Minister of Railways Vaishnaw announced a "world-class" train between the industrial hub of Sanand and Ahmedabad. https://www.businesstoday.in/technology/news/story/micron-technology-signs-deal-with-tata-projects-to-build-new-facility-in-sanand-starts-hiring-process-399451-2023-09-23

  11. In October of last year, a remake of Silent Hill 2 was announced. It's been over a year since, and news of how the project's coming along has been as quiet and as foggy as the titular town of Silent Hill itself. These development draw-distance blues came to a head on Twitter last week when the studio, after being asked when they could expect some news, bluntly replied that it's Konami's job to handle that sort of thing.Reading between the lines, you might see some frustration there. But I'm willing to take it at face value, especially since Bloober Team doesn't hail from Konami itself—Silent Hill games are all partner projects, since the in-house studio "Team Silent" no longer exists. Still, Bloober's CEO has some faith, saying Konami "knows what [it's doing]."The recent disasters of Silent Hill: Ascension has created an atmosphere of doubt, though. In fairness, Konami's weird discount chatroom experiment has been made by a completely different set of devs. Bloober has the chops to pull a remake off, making a game we gave a 90 in our Layers of Fear review. Still, there's enough anxiety that Bloober Team felt the need to make a second statement this week.Bloober confirms that the project's development is "progressing smoothly and in accordance to our schedule", though it reiterates—in a less matter-of-fact way—that Konami is still responsible for sharing any further details. "We kindly ask for a bit more patience. Once Konami, as the game's publisher, shares more information, we are confident that the wait will be worthwhile." Bloober has some big shoes to fill with the remake—especially considering the series' recent history. The devs there have my sympathy. I do, however, feel like this industry habit of dropping a cryptic teaser months before you're ready to show anything else is starting to exhaust fans.Harvey's history with games started when he first begged his parents for a World of Warcraft subscription aged 12, though he's since been cursed with Final Fantasy 14-brain and a huge crush on G'raha Tia. He made his start as a freelancer, writing for websites like Techradar, The Escapist, Dicebreaker, The Gamer, Into the Spine—and of course, PC Gamer. He'll sink his teeth into anything that looks interesting, though he has a soft spot for RPGs, soulslikes, roguelikes, deckbuilders, MMOs, and weird indie titles. He also plays a shelf load of TTRPGs in his offline time. Don't ask him what his favourite system is, he has too many. https://www.pcgamer.com/silent-hill-2-remake-devs-try-to-calm-down-fans-saying-for-the-second-time-that-its-on-konami-to-share-anything-we-kindly-ask-for-a-bit-more-patience/

  12. HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A state lawmaker who is helping lead the effort to impeach Philadelphia’s elected prosecutor on Tuesday became the newest candidate for Pennsylvania attorney general, an office that played a critical role in court defending Joe Biden’s 2020 victory in the presidential battleground. Rep. Craig Williams, a Republican who represents part of suburban Philadelphia, has said for months that he planned to run for the state’s top law enforcement office in 2024. Williams, a former federal prosecutor and former U.S. Marine Corps pilot and prosecutor, is the third Republican to declare his candidacy. In an announcement video, Williams says, “I’m running for attorney general because I know how to deal with violence. ... I fought the bad guys on the battlefield and I beat them in the courtroom.”Democrats are facing a five-way primary for an office that will be open after next year. Williams is a second-term member of the state House who ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2008, losing by 20 percentage points to then-U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak. He spent about a decade as a lawyer for Philadelphia-area electric and gas utility Peco Energy Co., an Exelon Corp. subsidiary, before running for the Legislature. As a freshman lawmaker, he became one of two House Republicans tapped to lead the impeachment of Philadelphia’s progressive district attorney, Larry Krasner. The process is tied up in court, with Krasner challenging it as a political impeachment based on policy disagreements, not credible evidence of wrongdoing in office. Williams, 58, born in Alabama, got his law degree at the University of Florida. The attorney general’s office has a budget of about $140 million annually and plays a prominent role in arresting drug traffickers, fighting gun trafficking, defending state laws in court and protecting consumers from predatory practices. The office also defended the integrity of Pennsylvania’s 2020 presidential election against repeated attempts to overturn it in state and federal courts by Donald Trump’s campaign and Republican allies. The two other Republicans who have announced their candidacies are York County District Attorney Dave Sunday and former federal prosecutor Katayoun Copeland. The Democrats running are Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, state Rep. Jared Solomon of Philadelphia, former state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, former federal prosecutor Joe Kahn and Keir Bradford-Grey, the former head of Philadelphia’s and Montgomery County’s public defense lawyers. No Republican has been elected attorney general since 2008. https://apnews.com/article/pennsylvania-attorney-general-election-campaign-craig-williams-67d34e58c67b75e48bc10596f719cb87
