Attorney Joseph Campos said the proposal has already been submitted to former President Dina Boluarte, who will have to make the final decision on whether to file the appeal.

Joseph Campos, attorney for former President Dina Boluarte, said he has proposed to the former president that she file an amparo action against the presidential vacancy approved by Congress, which defined the end of his client's term.

In statements to RPP, the attorney recalled that Parliament summoned Boluarte Zegarra with little time to prepare his defense, requiring a rescheduling, which was subsequently rejected by the national representation.

"The Constitutional Court has established a reasonable timeframe for the defense, which would not have been the case if he was only given 56 minutes to do so. There are precedents... where Congress granted him the right to speak to properly defend himself," he added.

Finally, Campos noted that the final decision rests with former President Dina Boluarte, who was in power from December 7, 2022, to October 9, 2025.
