The Chrysler Pacifica will add an all-electric version, per a report by Green Car Reports.

Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell reportedly confirmed the Pacifica EV is coming and said its design will be inspired by the Halcyon concept.

The electric Pacifica will launch sometime after the regular model receives a redesign for 2026; both could be built on the modular STLA Large platform.

An electric Chrysler Pacifica has been discussed ever since the brand's minivan adopted the moniker back in 2017 (see the Chrysler Portal concept). Now, it appears the first Pacifica EV will become the real deal within the next few years, according to a report by Green Car Reports.

Speaking to Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell at the LA auto show last week, the outlet reported that she confirmed a future electric version of the minivan will use the Pacifica name. She went on to say that the current Pacifica, which is offered with a gas-fed V-6 and plug-in-hybrid powertrain, is slated to receive a redesign in 2026. Feuell also said it will take inspiration from the Halcyon sedan concept that was revealed earlier this year. The Pacifica EV will reportedly arrive sometime after that, possibly the following year.

Currently, there aren't many three-row options when it comes to electric vehicles, and the Volkswagen ID.Buzz is the only one that qualifies as a minivan. However, the reborn Microbus that's sold in the United States doesn't let you fully remove its second-row seats. The V-6-powered Pacifica currently offers innovative Stow 'n Go seats that fold into the floor, but that's obviously not possible when there's a battery pack hogging the space below. However, Feuell told GCR that Chrysler is working on other ideas that will allow the EV minivan to provide similarly flexible seating configurations.

Earlier this year, Feuell discussed Chrysler's plans to expand the brand's lineup, starting with an EV SUV that's slated to launch next year. It will likely be built on Stellantis' modular STLA Large platform, which can accommodate electric, hybrid, and internal-combustion powertrains. While no details have been confirmed, it's easy to see how a next-gen Pacifica could offer all of those powertrains. Car and Driver reached out to Chrysler for a comment on the reported Pacifica EV, and we'll update this story if we hear back.
