[Animals] Can stray cats live more than 10 years?

Most stray kittens will die in their first 5 years but I took in a stray cat (named Smokey) who was super skinny and a bunch of scars. The vet said he was over 10 years old and one of his scars looks like a snake bite, the rest look like claw marks. He is afraid of ceiling fans, cat toys, rolling chairs, and other common household stuff so I think he's been a stray cat his whole life or most of his life.

 

I got a kitten 2 months ago and they always play and cuddle together. My kitten was being bullied by a big dog so Smokey attacked the dog until it ran away. Smokey is slowly learning how to love.

 

EDIT: the collar has fake spikes that are only on the top half of the collar and only in the outside. I promise I would never make him uncomfortable just to wear a cool collar. Just like how Fonzie has his leather jacket, Smokey has his spiked collar.
