He was born in Madrid in 1963. From a very young age he felt devotion to music, so much so that when he was 5 years old he played the Spanish guitar. At the age of 12 he formed his first group called Prisma and at the age of 15 he composed the most emblematic song of the Mecano group and of the Spanish pop scene in general: "Hoy me puedo levantar". He introduced a new style to 80's pop which made him a highly sought after artist by several multinationals. He composed music for other great Spanish pop groups such as La Unión, Alex y Christina or Magenta. Throughout the 80s, Nacho Cano had an unstoppable career full of success with his group Mecano.
