Quite negative information comes from Computex 2024, which is being held these days in Taiwan. In the last few hours, rumors have grown about a possible delay in the launch of the AMD Radeon RX 8000 Series and the Intel Arc Battlemage. According to rumors, they would not be launched at the end of this year, but would be delayed to the first quarter of 2025.

We know, practically with certainty, that NVIDIA will launch the new RTX 50 Series between September and November. It is expected that it will launch the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 first, and then launch the rest of the models.

In response to this launch, the new AMD RX 8000 Series based on the RDNA4 architecture should arrive. It was also planned that Intel will launch the Arc Battlemage based on the Xe2 architecture. This design is used in Lunar Lake processors for laptops.

Intel and AMD would have delayed the launch of their graphics
During its conference at Computex 2024, AMD has commented absolutely nothing about its RNDA4 architecture. This will be the basis for its future RX 8000 Series graphics cards that were scheduled to arrive at the end of the year. It seems that there is an alteration in the deadlines and it would be delayed until the first quarter of 2025, and could be presented at CES 2025.

On the other hand, Intel has shown all the characteristics of its new Xe2 graphics architecture. Lunar Lake processors will be the first to use these new GPUs. This design will be the basis of the new Arc Battlemage that would also have been delayed until 2025.

Initially, AMD would launch the RX 8700 XT and RX 8800 XT models to compete with NVIDIA's high-end models. It would be these models that would be delayed until early next year.

While the new Intel Arc Battlemage will have quite limited performance. According to early rumors, the most powerful model based on the Xe2 design could have similar power to NVIDIA's RTX 4070. Note that the current Arc A770 had a power similar to the RTX 4060 and Radeon RX 7600.

NVIDIA warns of low stock
Curiously, a few days ago NVIDIA dropped that there could be a serious lack of stock of RTX 50 Series graphics. You may think that it is because the company prioritizes solutions for AI, but that is not the case. The lack of stock will affect both solutions for gaming and artificial intelligence.

Something you should know is that TSMC is the manufacturer of AMD and NVIDIA graphics, and possibly also Intel graphics. Putting all the elements together, it seems that the Taiwanese foundry would be having some kind of problem.

It is quite likely that the problem is high demand or some type of problem obtaining supplies. Most likely, it will be an increase in demand, especially for products aimed at artificial intelligence. We are talking about a segment with a demand much higher than the supply currently.

The geopolitical situation on the island of Taiwan is not the best either. China demands that this island once again be another province of the country and suffers a certain blockade and military maneuvers on its coasts. Taiwan has the strategic support of the United States and of course, China does not want (for the moment) to start a conflict of this magnitude.
