The Minister of Po[CENSORED]r Power for Culture of Venezuela, Ernesto Villegas, reported this Friday the death of the film and television director, César Bolívar.

“Who would have imagined that César Bolívar, an immense director of Venezuelan cinema, would change plans one day after Corpus Christi, that being the name and context of one of his great films,” Villegas highlighted on his social network account. x.

Likewise, he said that “the pain is deep among his colleagues in the world of cinema, but he left enough of a mark, disciples and admirers so that every Sunday is a day of resurrection while the new generations follow his example. “Honor and glory to César Bolívar!”

The prominent Venezuelan artist was born on September 4, 1944 in Caracas, capital of Venezuela, and previously worked as a cameraman in film and television. Before, he had studied law, pedagogy and mathematics.

César Augusto Bolívar Massó directed several highly successful dramatized series for television, such as Sangre Azul, awarded by the New York Critics Association, and The Cycle of Rómulo Gallegos.

Likewise, he co-wrote all of his films in collaboration with José Ignacio Cabrujas, Salvador Garmendía, Gustavo Michelena and Ricardo García.

Among his most remembered films are Manslaughter, Easter Sunday, Death in High Contrast, Juan Topocho and Corpus Christi.
