Seven works to remember Juan Rulfo's legacy To date Benedetti is considered one of the most recognized Latin American writers in the region and in the world. Mario Benedetti was born on September 14, 1920 in the Uruguayan city in Paso de los Bulls and was part of the so -called 45 generation. In his works several genres such as the novel, the essay, the stories and poetry are evidenced. With his publications he captivated readers from around the world, and was recognized with several awards: Jristo Botev de Bulgaria (1984), Llama de Oro (1987), Morosoli de Plata (1996), are Latinos (2000), Etnosur (2004) , Morosoli de Oro (2006), and the Prize for Letters of the Cultural Fund of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (2008), among others.
