Wolf.17
"Lucid Earth" is a trademark filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and is probably the name of the brand's upcoming sub-$50K SUV. Lucid Motors also filed trademarks for "Earth Dream Edition" indicating a top-level launch edition trim similar to the Air sedan's initial production run. Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson recently announced the new high-volume, mid-size electric SUV is slated to start production in late 2026. A little internet sleuthing has uncovered the likely name of Lucid's new mid-size electric SUV. InsideEVs first reported that back in January, the California-based EV maker filed a trademark for "Lucid Earth" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Lucid also filed a trademark for "Earth Dream Edition," which could be the forthcoming EV's first trim level to launch. Earlier this week, Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson confirmed that the company will build a new high-volume, mid-size electric SUV with a starting price "around $48,000." While he also said that it will begin production sometime in late 2026, no other details were revealed, including what it will be called. Obviously, Earth hasn't yet been officially announced as the name of what will be Lucid's third model, but it seems like a good bet. Not only is the trademark, which was filed on Jan. 31, 2024, currently pending and awaiting examination by the USPTO, but it also strikes a similar tone as Lucid's other two models, the Air sedan and Gravity SUV. The sedan launched with a fully loaded Dream Edition trim that was only offered for a single model year. We expect the Gravity to follow suit, and with Lucid filing a trademark for "Earth Dream Edition," it stands to reason that the mid-size SUV will get the same treatment. Along with an official name, we're still waiting to learn more details about Lucid's new more affordable model, so stay tuned. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a60760323/lucid-earth-trademark-new-suv-name/
