[PC Games] This exclusive PlayStation franchise could return after a long absence

PlayStation has several exclusive franchises that have been dormant for years. Despite player requests, the company has preferred to keep them in the freezer and some of them have not had new titles for more than a decade.

A clear example is SOCOM, a saga distributed by Sony Computer Entertainment and which has been in the hands of studios such as Zipper Interactive and Slant Six Games. Fans of the saga are excited, as a recent clue suggests that he could return with a new project.

SOCOM was born in 2002 and gained po[CENSORED]rity over the years thanks to releases for PS2, PS3 and PSP. However, its last title debuted in 2011 and, since then, we have had no news about the franchise. Fans believe Sony should revive the saga, but it hasn't happened for over a decade.

Now, some players are hopeful that SOCOM will be revived with a new installment due to a recently found clue. What happens is that actor David Veach's resume mentions a project called SOCOM 111, about which there is no information until now.

It is ruled out that it is a writing error and that it is actually SOCOM III, since the actor has never participated in the franchise. Veach indicates that he is the co-star of SOCOM 111, which makes many players think that a new title in the saga is already on the way.

The project is listed in the motion capture section of the resume, which would indicate that it is indeed a game. However, nothing is actually confirmed, as Sony has not said anything about a new installment of the saga for now.

This is not the first time we have heard about the possible return of SOCOM. In August 2020, a leaker claimed that a new shooter was on the way to PlayStation 5, but we haven't heard more about this report in recent years.
