Bayer Leverkusen is the great candidate to win the German Cup, a trophy it won for the only time in 1993. The 'aspirins' are in the semi-finals along with two teams from the second category and another from the third. It is also the opportunity to win the double, considering that they are comfortable leaders of the Bundesliga. Furthermore, those led by Xabi Alonso are still alive in the Europa League. Lately they have been showing enough attitude to recover from complex situations, winning games in the final minutes that seemed lost or tied. It happened with Hoffenheim last Saturday; and with Qarabag a couple of weeks ago.

For its part, Fortuna Dusseldorf has two German Cup trophies (1979 and 1980). Today it competes in the Second Division where it is fighting to remain third (promotion zone for promotion). In this competition he has been undefeated for 7 consecutive dates - he arrives with 3 wins in a row - and has a high goal record. For the Cup, he eliminated rivals of his level.
