Specifically, he noted that, according to sources close to the development that he spoke with, the game's production is "on schedule" and that any reports suggesting a delay are "mere conjecture." Mike Straw explains that, because the launch of the open-world video game still seems distant, thinking about a delay makes no sense at this time, according to the people interviewed. Additionally, Jason Schreier, arguably the most trusted source in the gaming industry, addressed the recent reports in an article for Bloomberg. Basically, he explains that Grand Theft Auto VI, like any other ambitious title, is not immune to delays and that it could change its release date. The journalist also remembers the case of Red Dead Redemption 2, which was scheduled for 2017 but finally arrived in October 2018 after suffering two delays. All that said, he states that "there's no indication that anything significant has changed as far as the game's release plans are concerned." Lastly, he explained that most of his sources “shrugged their shoulders” when he asked them about the delay rumors, so it seems that development of GTA VI is going according to plan.
