Senegal coach Aliou Cisse was hospitalized after falling ill following his team's 3-1 victory over Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations.

Senegal qualifies for the round of 16 and puts Cameroon in trouble

Cisse, 47, was admitted to a local hospital after the match in Yamoussoukro on Friday evening, and remained there throughout the night. He is expected to be released later Saturday after his condition improves.

 

"He is fine," Senegal national team spokesman Kara Thione said.

 

Cisse showed no symptoms of illness when he spoke to reporters during a post-match press conference on Friday

 

Defending champion Senegal maintained its place among the 16 teams with its second successive victory in Group C.

 

Senegal faces Guinea in its last group match in Yamoussoukro on Tuesday.
