Noticias ALEJANDRO
Addressing those present, Tshisekedi pledged to focus the presidential work on creating "more jobs, protecting the purchasing power of households by stabilizing the exchange rate, guaranteeing security much more effectively, continuing the diversification of our economy and guaranteeing greater access to basic services." He emphasized recovering political stability, the security of the nation and avoiding the repetition of what he called "mistakes of the past." We want a more united, stronger and more prosperous Congo, he said. Tshisekedi was re-elected during the elections of December 20, after which there were complaints of fraud by opposition candidates. On that date, national and regional legislators were also elected, as well as municipal councilors. Although it admitted the complaints presented, the Constitutional Court declared them unfounded due to lack of evidence and considered that the irregularities that occurred did not have a determining influence on the electoral results. Delegations from China, Japan, USA, Djibouti, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Malawi attended the formal swearing-in ceremonies. Noticias
