MehrezVM
England begin Six Nations campaign in Italy on February 3 and wrap up tournament with clash against France on March 16; Jamie George confirmed as captain after Owen Farrell steps away from international rugby; Wales-born wing Immauel Feyi-Waboso earns first call-up Jamie George has been confirmed as England captain for the Six Nations following Owen Farrell's decision to step away from international rugby, while Wales-born wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso has earned a maiden call-up. Hooker George, 33, will guide England through a campaign that begins away to Italy on February 3 and concludes against France in Lyon on March 16 as they look to improve on last year's fourth-placed finish and build on coming third at the 2023 World Cup. Farrell announced in November that he would miss the 2024 Six Nations to focus on his and his family's wellbeing and is not in the 36-player squad named by head coach Steve Borthwick. Exeter Chiefs star Feyi-Waboso was not named in Wales' group on Tuesday amid reports that he had chosen to represent England and the 21-year-old has now been selected by Borthwick. Feyi-Waboso is one of seven uncapped players in the England party, along with Chandler Cunningham-South (Harlequins), Ethan Roots (Exeter), Oscar Beard (Harlequins), Fraser Dingwall (Northampton), Tom Roebuck (Sale) and Fin Smith (Northampton. Borthwick said: "Manny (Feyi-Waboso) really impressed us, not just on the pitch. We can all see the power he brings, the speed he brings. He finds a way through contact when there doesn't appear to be a way through there. "When I rang him, I could sense that excitement and buzz down the phone, he was thrilled. And that gave me a real energy and a real buzz as well." Source
