As of November 2023, a total of 110 Ecuadorians are deprived of liberty in Colombian prisons, according to figures from the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC) of that country provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility to this newspaper. Given the evident tension that has arisen in recent days between both nations due to President Daniel Noboa's announcements that in a few days he will begin the deportation of 1,500 foreign citizens serving sentences in Ecuadorian prisons, among those Colombians, the question arises as to whether The neighboring country will take some similar measure.
