The SU7 was designed by the team of Li Tianyuan, Xiaomi's head of design, who joined the company after arriving at the brand after working at BMW, where he was responsible for models such as the iX and the new 7 Series. The designer exterior is James Qiu, who was previously in charge of drawing the lines of the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX.

Xiaomi will offer the SU7 in two initial versions, called SU7 and SU7 Max. The base model has rear-wheel drive and has a 220 kW (295 Hp) engine and 400 Nm of torque, with which it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
