Additionally, Cailee Spaeny was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for Priscilla at the 81st Golden Globe Awards.

Sofía Coppola, who had not released a film since “On the Rocks” (2020), decided to make the film after reading the biographical book of Priscilla Presley.

“It was important to me that Priscilla Presley was satisfied with the story. It's her story. I wanted it to feel like it was true to her experience, and it was really important to me to find the balance between making it feel good for her and being able to express what I wanted to do. And it meant a lot to me that, after seeing the film, she told me that she was moved and that she felt that Cailee Spaeny faithfully expressed how she felt and what her experience was like. I think this is the first time Priscilla has been the center of attention. Her attention is focused on her and not on Mrs. Elvis Presley.”
