One of the most po[CENSORED]r posts on social media during the week was about this sculpture installed by the Fine Motor Institute (IMF) collective in Plaza Italia.

It is a figure that shows a snake, but in the shape of Chile, emulating the country devouring itself, and which was installed the day after the triumph of the “Against” in the constitutional plebiscite of December 17.
“The use of the uroboro symbol mixed with the territory of Chile was born as a result of reflections on the social outbreak and the idiosyncrasy of our country. What at first seemed like an awakening, little by little began to take on deeper complexities, discarding any possibility of exact resolution. After the plebiscites, the dual metaphor of the ouroboros offers the possibility of a rebirth and, the second, of self-extermination," they say from the IMF.

The installation will be part of a microdocumentary that will be exhibited during 2024 in different cultural spaces.

THE STRANGE ECOSYSTEM IN ATACAMA

A reflection of the first forms of life on our planet. That is what a team of scientists claims to have found in a lagoon ecosystem “unique in the world” in the Atacama Puna, in Argentina, as reported by the BBC.

The discovery, made by geologist Brian Hynek, from the University of Colorado Boulder, and Argentine microbiologist María Farías, was announced last week and occurred after closely observing satellite images of the region.
Hynek and Farías had been analyzing these images for more than a year and found what appeared to be a particular aquifer network in the middle of the desert.
