Metal Slug is one of those sagas that we all have linked to the arcade machines in bars, from the 90s, when these arcades led us to spend coins until we managed to finish it. From there, it gained much greater relevance in the domestic sphere thanks to Neo Geo and we were subsequently able to play it on practically every console and computer on the planet.

If you are a gamer, it is practically certain that you know what Metal Slug is and although we have had no news in the franchise for a long time, we recently learned that the heirs of SNK were going to dare to create a new concept based on the characters, enemies and scenarios of the original deliveries. The result was going to be Metal Slug Tactics, which we are going to talk to you about now.

Is Metal Slud Tactics in danger?
The fact is that we have been hearing about Metal Slug Tactics for a long time, so much so that its developer even put 2023 (yes now) as the time to launch it on the market, but the year is ending, we only have ten days left, and Nobody confirms anything here. Well yes, in some way they have done it but without specifying exactly how long we will have to hold out within 2024.

The fact is that as of today, Metal Slug Tactics does not have a set release date so it sounds like a patapúm up and down (as they said former coach Javier Clemente said) and to get rid of criticism or questions from fans who are beginning to smell the worst. Exactly what? Well, so many problems are not understood and that a tactical RPG of this type has not already materialized in some way.

 

 

Confirmation of the delay until 2024 has come from the company itself which, through its official Discord server, has given the good news to all its fans. Some followers who are already starting to get fed up because the wait has been jumping from 2022 to 2023 and now 2024.

Two years late is a lot
The official message said exactly that "2023 is coming to an end and many of you have been waiting for an update to Metal Slug Tactics [...] In our tireless efforts to make the game worthy of the Metal Slug franchise, and your expectations "We have decided to release Metal Slug Tactics in 2024." Remember that it was already said that 2022 would be the time for it to be put on sale, so it is already raining in the wet

Also, we're not talking about Metal Slug Tactics going to have an incredibly ambitious launch. De Primeras is expected to be available for PC and Nintendo Switch, so on both PlayStation and Xbox users will have to wait a little longer. It hits us that everything will depend on the success of the studio and whether the studio has the strength – financial – to face that challenge.

For now, what worries us now is that it comes out. Because with each new statement that we know, things look worse. And we have a crazy desire to meet again with a new Metal Slug. Don't you think so?
