While some titles promised thrills and fun, the reality was very different, giving us titles ranging from simply bad to aberrations. As that purple villain from The Avengers would say, “perfectly balanced, as everything should be.” 2023 has been characterized by giving us great games that will go down in the history of the medium like others that are the main cause of our worst nightmares. The BOTY (Bodrio of the Year) of 2023 arrive And to celebrate that another video game year is ending, today we bring you this top of the five worst games of 2023 according to the very erudite critics of Metacritic. These are: 5. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Opening the list of the five worst games of 2023 is The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Although much was expected from an adventure in Middle-earth, this game has left fans with a sour taste. Unintuitive controls and a story that fails to capture the essence of the main character have contributed to The Lord of the Rings: Gollum having a 38 on Metacritic. 4. Greyhill Incident Fourth place goes to Greyhill Incident, a title that was intended to be an immersive psychological thriller. However, the promises remained in the air, as players were faced with a confusing plot and tedious gameplay, not to mention terrible graphics. It has a surprisingly high Metacritic score of 38. 3. Flashback 2 Flashback 2 is a sequel that failed to live up to expectations. Despite trying to capture the essence of the original game, this installment has been criticized for its lack of innovation, despite having a technical section that was not bad at all.
