FNX Magokiler Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 GTA VI is now official and Rockstar has promised us that we will be able to play with it in 2025 so it is assumed that, by then, Nintendo will already have the successor to Switch in stores, so in recent days the trend has grown of fans who are playing to imagine that the studio could announce whether or not we will have a version for the Japanese hybrid machine. You too? We all know that Nintendo is not a company that in the last 20 years has wanted to lead the technology-based console market, so that decision has brought it some serious headaches, as it cannot aspire to receive in its some AAA machines that everyone buys year after year. This is the case of Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, etc. GTA VI on Nintendo Switch 2? Many players are asking this question and now there are experts who wanted to answer it. One of those mentioned has been Richard Leadbetter from Digital Foundry, the YouTube channel that compares the performance of the different versions of each game and shows us how they behave on any known system and platform, so it is assumed that it has a sufficient knowledge base to give its verdict. It is true that Richard does not know what hardware the future Switch 2 will have, but we can get an idea from the leaks. And his opinion regarding the possibility of seeing GTA VI in the guts of the future machine are... can you imagine them? The Digital Foundry member has commented on what everyone thinks, that it will be “very, very complicated” for the Rockstar game to run, although he confesses that he would “love to say that it will happen.” What's more, he points out that "I don't think it will happen, if I'm realistic. It is a mobile chipset. We've seen a lot of amazing things on Switch. Switch 2 will be much better and will represent a proper generational leap that is forward-thinking in many ways. But the things that they seem to be implementing for GTA VI possibly go beyond that.” What if Rockstar takes a step back? Apart from remembering that Red Dead Redemption arrived this year on Switch, 13 years late and because the hardware of the Nintendo hybrid is like that of a PS3 or an Xbox 360, a theory that we could embrace is the following: What if instead of a GTA VI we will have a GTA V in the future machine? That scenario is more realistic and we could guarantee 99% that it will happen throughout the useful life of this new generation. Switch 2 aims to match its technical potential with that of a PS4 or an Xbox One that arrived in 2013, so we can imagine that a port of GTA V is very, very feasible. So fans of the Nintendo machine would be, in some way, satisfied by such a decision from Rockstar.
