FNX Magokiler Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 Mercedes Benz presented the newest representative of the iconic SL range, born with the 300 SL “Gullwings”, produced in coupe format between 1954 and 1957, whose Roadster version debuted in 1955 with a canvas roof. On the 70th anniversary of the birth of the racing car, which is in its seventh generation, the brand revealed the SL 63 SE Performance, the most powerful of all time. Mercedes Benz AMG SL 63 SE Performance: exterior The SL 63 SE Performance features a Panamericana grille with 14 vertical bars, air intakes at each end of the bumper with black and chrome trim, and sharp LED lights. At the rear, it incorporates a diffuser, double exhaust outlets on each side and an extendable spoiler that offers five different positions automatically - depending on the speed being driven. The dimensions are: Length: 4,700 mm Width: 1,910 mm Height: 1,350 mm Wheelbase: 2,700 mm Weight: between 1,810 and 1,970 kilos This German sports car has 20-inch alloy wheels (there is a 21” option), 265/40 tires at the front and 295/35 at the rear, which surround a 420 mm front and 380 mm rear ceramic disc system. The chassis is completed by an AMG Active Ride Control suspension with semi-active shock absorbers, which are interconnected with each other and self-regulate in both compression and extension to dispense with stabilizer bars. This SL 63 SE Performance features an automatic fabric roof that can be folded in 15 seconds at a speed of up to 60 km/h. In addition, it offers eight driving modes: Electric, Battery Hold, Comfort, Smoothness, Sport, Sport+, Race and Individual. Mercedes Benz AMG SL 63 SE Performance: interior Inside, the SL 63 SE Performance is presented with a sporty aesthetic in which the 2+2 configuration is maintained: two sports front seats and two rear seats with reduced space. The interior can also be customized with the Energizing Plus package, which includes massage functions and ambient lighting, custom-color Nappa leather upholstery with diamond stitching, details that can be included on the armrests, center console, among others. Mercedes Benz AMG SL 63 SE Performance: engine The Mercedes Benz AMG SL 63 SE Performance is powered by a 4.0 V8 biturbo engine and a 204 HP electric drive at the rear. This powertrain is capable of producing 816 Hp and 1,420 Nm together. The transmission is a 9-speed automatic with a multi-plate clutch and there is an extra two automatic gearboxes associated with the electric motor that is placed on the rear axle. The drive is four wheels.
