  • Other Information: Tate Rosner McRae (Calgary, July 1, 2003), known professionally as Tate McRae (/teɪt məˈkreɪ/), is a Canadian singer, songwriter and dancer. As a dancer, at age thirteen she rose to prominence as the first Canadian finalist on the American reality show So You Think You Can Dance. Years later, in 2019, he caught the attention of RCA Records when his original song "One Day" (2017) went viral on YouTube, recording his debut extended play, All the Things I Never Said, in January 2020. McRae soon gained wider recognition after her song "You Broke Me First" became an international hit. In 2021, McRae was the youngest artist to appear on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list. Her second EP, Too Young to Be Sad (2021), became the most streamed female artist EP of 2021 on Spotify. His debut album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, was released on May 27, 2021. The album was met with positive reviews from critics and entered the top 10 in several countries, peaking at number thirteen on the US Billboard 200. In 2023, McRae released the biggest hit of his career, the song "Greedy", which is the lead single from his second studio album, Think Later, which will be released in December 2023.
  • Born in Calgary, Canada, on July 1, 2003, to a German mother and Canadian father. At age four, she moved with her family to Oman, a country in the Middle East, where her mother taught dance classes and lived there for three years. She returned to Calgary in 2011, where she began training professionally at age six. At eight, she joined Drewitz Dance Productions competitively and then began taking classes at the Alberta Ballet Company, which launched her career in the artistic world.
  • Shortly after McRae began dancing competitively, she was awarded Best Female Dancer in the "Mini" category at the 2013 Dance Awards in New York City. After gaining some prominence, she became an ambassador for the American brand Capezio. She became a finalist at the New York City Dance Alliance's 2014 National Gala.
  • In 2015, McRae received a two-week scholarship with the Berlin State Ballet company after winning the silver medal at the 2015 American Youth Grand Prix. She danced in the music video for Walk's platinum-certified single "Rule The World". off the Earth. For the second time, McRae received her award for Best Female Dancer at the 2015 Dance Awards, this time in the "Junior" category. McRae had been a consistently active voice actress for the Lalaloopsy franchise, voicing the role of "Spot Splatter Splash" since the show's inception in 2013.

She also performed with Justin Bieber as part of his Purpose World Tour in June 2016, before appearing on the thirteenth season of the American television show So You Think You Can Dance. While competing for the title of America's Favorite Dancer as a non-American, she was mentored by American dancer and actress Kathryn McCormick. She advanced further in the competition than any other Canadian in the show's history, placing third in the final episode. Canadian TV host Murtz Jaffer of Toronto Sun reacted: "The fact that Canadians can't vote for Tate makes her third-place finish all the more impressive. While she may not have been voted America's favorite dancer, she certainly could be from Canada ." She performed at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards as a finalist for the cast of SYTYCD. For the third time, she won Best Female Dancer at the 2018 Dance Awards in Las Vegas, this time in the "Teen" category. In April 2018, she choreographed and danced in the music video for the song "Just Say When" by American rock band Nothing More.
