We all remember what the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was like at the end of 2020: on PC and Stadia it was not bad, it could be played without major problems, but on consoles the disaster was absolute, with a PS4 version that had so many errors that even Sony decided remove it from your store. So since then he continues to fight against that cross that many put on him – rightly – and that has already been removed in Phantom Liberty.

This expansion premiered on September 25 and did so by telling us a small new story arc but, above all, already releasing the definitive version of Cyberpunk 2077, thanks to a 2.0 patch that already corresponds to the vision that CD Projekt RED had. of his creature. So we can think that, perhaps, the game arrived in a kind of early access that its expansion has managed to close as it deserves.

Delays and blame
Given the development that Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone, it is evident that the Poles were too far ahead of the time left for their game to reach stores as they wanted. If it had been approached that way, as an early access, many disappointments, analyzes and criticisms that have diminished the perception we all have of the company behind The Witcher would surely have been avoided.

But let's remember that The Witcher III already arrived on the market late and with some initial failures in what seems to be an infinite trend in what remains of video game history. Because? Well, there is a reason, and it is that with each new generation of hardware (whether on PC or consoles) the efforts of a studio, both financial, talent and time, multiply exponentially, making it impossible to finish things in due time without unforeseen events.

An obvious example of what everyone expected the game to be and that did not arrive in 2020 but in 2023, and that has convinced so much that it has already sold more than 4.3 million units. An obvious success, without palliatives, that makes us happy because CD Projekt RED has to take a breath to try to avoid making the same mistakes with The Witcher IV. Because if they commit them, it will be time to turn off the light, close the door and ask them to do something else.
