FNX Magokiler Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 After three years, Subaru is introducing some mid-life changes to its family-sized SUV, the Evoltis. In these three years there have been changes within the Subaru universe, mainly in terms of design, technology and safety, so Evoltis seeks to also reflect those improvements that we have been able to perceive in another of the brand's models. However, what has also changed is the competition, so today Evoltis does not have it as easy as before. Among these, we count the Hyundai Palisade, the Honda Pilot, the Nissan Pathfinder and a little higher up the Mazda CX-90, to which we can add models such as the recently released Maxus D90 and the SsangYong Rexton, soon to receive a facelift, in addition from the usual rivals such as Ford Explorer and Chevrolet Traverse. Subaru Evoltis 2024: dimensions and design Length: 4,995 mm Width: 1,930 mm Height: 1,819 mm Between axles: 2,890 mm Clearance: 220 mm Trunk (to the roof): With three rows: 460 liters With two rows: 1,331 liters The dimensions are exactly the same. Maybe a few thousandths here or there in terms of length, but the rest is exactly the same. And although Evoltis is not the largest model, it is by far one of the SUVs that has the best use of space and that is more important than having the largest SUV. Regarding design, we know that Subaru is a brand that you love or hate. Sometimes he hits the jackpot, as is the case with Crosstrek. There are other models that are of acquired taste or that age better over time and there are others that are very utilitarian and have no major pretensions. Evoltis was from that last batch and the new facelift does not take it in the right direction. There are more modern things that help refresh the design, such as the more compact headlights (Forester style) and the design of the front bumper, but the new grille is extremely large, very much in the North American taste and does not work well with the rest of the elements: very similar to what happens to BMW with its "Bugs Bunny" grilles on the 4 Series. At the rear I would have expected more extensive changes, but the brand only referred to revising the light graphics of the headlights and nothing more. In that sense, if it is by design, Hyundai wins with the Palisade and its modern style or Nissan with the retro nods of the Pathfinder but hey, taste is subjective. Subaru Evoltis 2024: interior Inside is where Subaru's engineering shines, in the sense that space is very well used and everything is very practical. I'm not only talking about the 19 coasters it has, but also about other things that the brand thought for this model, including a wide door, washable rubber floors, large windows, doors that make it easy to mount child seats, plastic steps to be able to climb onto mount things on the roof, simple levers to move the rear seats or to fold the third row, quite usable for trips (not very long) and all types of people, whether adults or children (with cupholders and USB ports), although it does not have the best accessibility: Subaru proposes a "central aisle" that helps a little in that matter. https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2023/12/09/test-drive-subaru-evoltis-2024-defendiendose-con-tecnologia-y-seguridad
