Storm is a service dog who starred at halftime of a football game after he was gifted to John Mulvey, a retired military man who was honored in a ceremony for his service. The canine entered the MetLife Stadium playing field and as soon as he saw his next owner he ran into his arms.
The canine was trained by the non-profit organization, Paws of War, and will help overcome the anxiety episodes that the veteran suffers. The group explained in a post on their Facebook page that Mulvey served 36 years in the United States Army and for this reason they want to help him with a therapy dog.
“This four-legged companion symbolizes unwavering support and a bond that goes beyond words,” Paws of War management wrote. “John and Storm represent the strength and unity that defines our nation,” she added.

A surprise gift

The New York Giants management took Mulvey to a corner of the field to honor him during halftime of the game for having served in Haiti, the Gulf Wars, Iraq and Afghanistan. While thousands of fans applauded, the stadium announcers announced that they had a surprise for the former military man.

“After 36 years of service, traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder, we know how a service dog's life can change,” they explained over the loudspeakers.

“The Giants want to introduce him to a healing leash: a service dog named Storm,” they added.

The dog, an English cream golden breed, came out wearing a Giants vest and immediately fell in love with his new owner. Mulvey leaned down to pet his pet and repeatedly thanked team management for the thoughtfulness.

“Paws of War found Mulvey last year and we supported him with a dog, however, he developed problems in both ears and could not help him, so we decided to place him with Storm who was adopted by his daughter,” explained the organization's administration. .

Serve to live

Storm quickly adapted to the lifestyle of her new owners and won the hearts of social media users, who, upon seeing the animal's reaction to her new family, considered it to be love at first sight and assured that she You're going to have a great time in the company of the veteran.

“I'm crying for everyone. The dog got a new job and the soldier found a friend that he needed”, “this is beautiful. Thank you to the Giants for such a wonderful gift,” were some of the comments made by TikTok users in the clip published by the franchise.

The Giants administration explained that a service dog costs between $10,000 and $50,000, and in many cases people who need a trained animal cannot afford it for the price. Mulvey said he was grateful for the detail and assured that this gift will change his life forever.
