ぁ Ꭷbito- Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 AMD has just released a new Radeon BETA GPU driver, which adds support for the game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and marks the return of the HAGS feature, hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. AMD's new Adrenalin Edition 23.30.13.01 driver is compatible with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, launching on December 7, as it is an AMD-sponsored title that will feature exclusive optimizations for Radeon GPUs and Ryzen CPUs. The game ships with the latest Ryzen 7000 CPUs and Radeon 7000 GPUs as reported here. Intermittent micro-dropouts may occur when running Chromium-based browsers on systems that combine a Radeon RX 7000 series GPU with a secondary display connected to an AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor. In addition to routine changes, support for HAGS (hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling) has been reintroduced. Guru3D forum members were able to detect the enabling of the feature which suggests a possible return of HAGS for current times. This HAGS was last seen in an AMD driver in 2020 intended for the RX 5000 range. HAGS can be defined in a simplified way as “a task scheduler” for a GPU, which allows it to manage its video memory and schedule tasks and thus improve performance and reduce latency in some scenarios. It was introduced with the release of Windows 10, and while it served as a mechanism for managing graphics-intensive tasks, there was no evidence of any performance improvement.
