FNX Magokiler
No one can doubt at this point that Steam Deck has been one of the great successes in Valve's history. One that has served, not only to sell millions of units, but to definitively establish in the market that segment of consolidated PCs, of machines that we can take everywhere to play whatever we want. So Gabe Newell's guys are really excited. And so much so that on November 16 they put the new Steam Deck model on sale, an update with greater autonomy and an OLED screen that will delight those who already know the platform in detail. Although suddenly, we have found a surprise that Valve seems to have hidden a little and that by knowing the details, we understand why it has done it. Smoked OLED Steam Deck We all know that the Steam Deck is one of the most customizable machines that exist and perhaps that is why Valve has decided that it is going to market a model that departs from those traditional black colors. The result of this experiment is a design with a translucent smoked casing and a series of red decorative elements that embellish the entire set. In this way, the so-called Stem Deck OLED Limited Edition arrives on the market, which, unfortunately for those of us who live on this side of the pond, is only available "in limited units" in both the US and Canada. So when you enter the website, the message appears that this item is not available in your region. How can we avoid it? Well, you can imagine: activate your VPN and see if there is any luck! The machine is identical to the Steam Deck OLED model with 1TB of storage, except for that detail of the semi-transparent casing and the cooling elements, on/off button and base of the analog sticks in red. Which is already enough for many to want to get it at a price that is the same as the normal model with the exterior completely in black: 679 euros. Total settlement In any case, if your intention is to spend less, know that Valve has on sale all the units of its old 64 and 256GB models that arrived in stores in February 2022 so, if you want to get one, you They will cost only 369 and 419 euros, respectively. Needless to say, the most modest device is a real bargain because for that price, plus that of a 1TB SSD, the set will barely cost you 450 euros. Even so, despite this move to launch Steam Deck OLED, Valve should now be thinking about how to take the next step in the generation, because as the months go by, its device is showing more and more difficulties in playing with a certain agility. AAA games. And that, with competition from Ayaneo, Asus or Lenovo, is making the path a little more complicated.
