FNX Magokiler
As part of its permanent support for strengthening the Chilean audiovisual industry, among the many activities of FIDOCS – from November 16 to 23 – interesting initiatives stand out that cross associative networks, taking advantage of strategic alliances to stimulate professional training, the appearance of new talents and the circulation of their creations. DOCS IN PROGRESS + CONNECT For the third consecutive year, FIDOCS partners with the International Documentary Industry Meeting, CONECTA to select seven Latin American feature films in the editing stage. During FIDOCS, they will receive personalized advice from professionals in the areas of editing, direction and script. Among the advisors, Paz Encina, Kiro Russo, Gustavo Fontán, Tiziana Panizza, Alejandra Moffat, Titi Viera Gallo and Melisa Miranda stand out. Then, during Conecta 2023 - from December 12 to 15 - they will participate in group and one-on-one feedback sessions with national and international representatives of the audiovisual industry, in addition to a personal distribution and circulation advisory session. The Fidocs industry area is led by national producer Marcela Santibáñez, nominated for an Oscar in 2021 for El Agente Topo. The list of selected films opens with two films from Peru: Good morning, wiraqocha, directed by Marcelo Godoy and produced by Paula Chávez López, moves 50 years towards the making of a film in the province of Paucartambo (Cusco), which activates the sociopolitical memory of its inhabitants. On the other hand, Where the Mountains Speak, directed by Álvaro Sarmiento and produced by Diego Sarmiento and Juan Francisco González, proposes a tour of Cusco, showing the ways of life of the Andean man, his worldview, religious syncretism and festivities. . Two projects also arrive from Argentina: Mailin, directed and produced by María Silvia Esteve, which tells a story about the protagonist's search to recover the memory of a childhood interrupted by years of trauma. The second film is Caregivers, directed by Gabriela Uassouf and Martina Matzkin and produced by Rocío Pichirili and Marianne Mayer-Beckh, in which three trans women enter as caregivers in a home for the elderly and the tenderness of the bonds that are forged helps to leave behind all prejudice. Venezuela contributes with Kueka ancestral memory, a film directed and produced by María de los Ángeles Peña Fonseca, in which a group of Pemón indigenous elders undertake an unprecedented fight to recover their ancestral grandmother, kidnapped in Germany; while from Mexico will come Un Murmullo Correr la Tierra, directed by Gabriela Domínguez Ruvalcaba and produced by Alex Noppel Briseño, where we follow Enedelia, who is expecting her third daughter, while in her community the fear exerted by organized violence expands like a noise deaf. https://www.elmostrador.cl/cultura/2023/11/15/fidocs-2023-ofrecera-actividades-de-industria-formativas-y-de-exploracion-de-los-nuevos-medios/
