FNX Magokiler
And one of those models is the Volkswagen ID.7, the sixth model in the ID electric car family. of the German brand, which we were able to drive through the city, highways and mountain roads, for just over 60 kilometers. Enough to give you a conductive impression of a model presented in 2023 and that will hardly ever arrive in Chile, because if it is already difficult to sell an electric car in a compact format or with an SUV silhouette, imagine trying to sell a sedan of almost 5 meters long. Volkswagen ID.7: characteristics Sedans are an inalienable part of Volkswagen's history, and the list of icons is long, the Passat surely being the most important of them. Well, the ID.7 comes to take the place of Passat, but in 100% electric language, a necessity for Volkswagen that until now had experimented with hatchbacks, SUVs of different sizes and even with the Combi, but which did not have a sedan. electric. And the ID.7 is designed for those looking for something big. It measures 4.96 meters long, 2.41 meters wide (including mirrors) and 1.53 meters high, with 2.97 meters between the axles, a 532-liter trunk and an empty weight of 2,172 kilos. It is built on the German group's dedicated MEB platform, which allows for super-fast charging and placing large batteries between the four wheels. The brand offers batteries of 82 and 91 kWh capacity, offering 610 and 700 km of autonomy (WLTP), respectively. In both versions there is a single engine placed on the rear axle. It is a new oil and water cooled electric motor called AP550, which has a power of 282 HP and 545 Nm of torque, figures that make it the most powerful engine in the ID family. Using a single-speed transmission, it offers 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. Regarding charging, the brand indicates that in a continuous current outlet of 175 kW power, it takes 10 minutes to recover 204 km of autonomy, and going from 10 to 80% takes 28 minutes. The design is elegant and technological, with the front and rear headlights visually united by LED lights, very aligned with the rest of the ID models. The difference in this case is that being a sedan, the designers achieved a minimal aerodynamic impact thanks to a Cx of just 0.23. Like all IDs. The shapes are soft, slightly curved, and with the contrasting black roof that suits it very well.
