Apple will release iOS 17.1.1 soon with major bug fixes ahead of iOS 17.2

Last week, Apple released iOS 17.2 beta to developers for testing purposes. The update could be available for all compatible iPhone models by the end of this month with many forward-facing features. However, it is now being reported that the company is working on iOS 17.1.1 internally, and based on the software version, it could arrive before the release of iOS 17.2 later this month.

Apple will release iOS 17.1.1 in the coming weeks ahead of iOS 17.2, but it will not house any major features
Apple has released several updates for iOS 17 to fix various bugs, including the overheating issues on the new iPhone 15 Pro models. Moreover, the company is working to ensure the platform is stable and bug-free, as many users have complained of stability and poor performance on the iPhone. With that said, iOS 17.1.1 will be a minor update, considering the number of features it will bring to the table. The update will potentially focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements rather than getting new features into the mix.

iOS 17.1.1 could house fixes for WiFi and connectivity issues not addressed in iOS 17.1. Currently, the iPhone also has a bug that allows the device to shut down overnight automatically, preventing notifications from showing. iOS 17 also has a BMW wireless charging bug, which Apple has acknowledged and stated that a fix is on the way. While there are numerous issues, it is unclear at this stage which will be part of the final iOS 17.1.1 release.

As mentioned earlier, Apple is testing iOS 17.1.1 internally and it could be released without entering the beta cycle. This means that developers would have no chance to discover what is part of the release. We speculate that the update will arrive next Tuesday or the week after. However, it will be released ahead of the iOS 17.2 update. The company is working its best to make iOS 17 more stable, but so far, it is potentially one of the weakest updates to hit the iPhone.

Other than iOS 17.1.1, Apple is also testing iOS 17.2, which will be a significant update. Developers have found out that the update will bring numerous features to the table, including the new Journal app for iPhone and iPad. The update also improves the Apple Music app and a new Translate option for the iPhone 15 Pro's Action Button. Additionally, iOS 17.2 will bring Contact Key Verification in iMessage, additional Clock and Weather widgets, and much more. We will let you know when the update is available for download on all compatible iPhone models.
