[Hardware] The RTX 4080 SUPER is a reality, it has already been listed

The rumors seem to be true. A few days ago we were talking about the possibility of seeing, in the not too distant future, a new GPU model, the RTX 4080 SUPER. Now it seems that it will be a reality and it is approaching us.

It would have been listed, although with an identifier, 2703, which would precisely be next to the current RTX 4080 that would have 2704, so everything fits, so let's see more details.

The RTX 4080 SUPER is very close
Everything points to this, and they do not seem to be simple coincidences, so this new model of graphics card could hit the market at any time, before the end of the year.

The SUPER version is expected to be very similar to the original, it is hardly believed that there will be many performance differences. While the GeForce RTX 4080 has 9,728 shaders, the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER could go up to 10,240 shaders, so the change is not that big.

It is true that we want to see it, especially now that it is working. An improvement of 5% or 10% is very slight, but hey, it is appreciated, especially if the price remains the same compared to its predecessor.

Another expected improvement is with respect to VRAM, where we could see 20 GB of GDDR6X (which would increase the current one by 4 GB) along with a 320-bit memory interface compared to the previous 256 bits.

 

 

All this could lead us to a more substantial change in terms of performance, resembling the RTX 4090.

We will see what happens, but if true, the SUPER versions would be a minor update of the originals and, therefore, we hope that they are that, their substitute, that is, that they appear for a price equal to the previous ones and that these others disappear or reduce their value. This would be interesting and a great point for the brand.

It must be emphasized that, although all of this seems to be confirmed almost certainly, for now we have nothing official, so we must take the information with a grain of salt until NVIDIA releases something to us, since it would not be the first time we have seen a important change with respect to what the rumors tell us, and it is very normal for them to read opinions about them to guide the production path.

In any case, as mentioned, if they maintain the price and offer us the promised improvements, it will be a great change for users who want to get one, the problem is that we do not know if this will be the case.

If they knew this information, no one who is thinking about purchasing the RTX 4080 would do so at the moment, and NVIDIA doesn't want that either, which is why there will surely be so much secrecy until they believe that it is a good time to launch it, which it seems, that before Christmas wouldn't be a bad option.

The other day we also analyzed a possible RTX 4070 SUPER and RTX 4060 SUPER. Nothing more is known about these, they have not even been listed anywhere, but if 4080 comes out, it is more than likely that it will not be the only one to do so. We will be waiting to see what happens these weeks.
