FNX Magokiler
Drug seizures that have increased by almost 400% in recent years, cocaine of close to 100% purity, kidnappings and homicides committed from moving cars are part of the new criminogenic reality that one of the southernmost regions of the world faces. country. With the change in the criminal matrix that has been experienced in recent years in Chile, a series of crimes that were previously exclusive to the large cities in the center and north of the country have also begun to occur in the south. In this context, at the beginning of this year, the first two cases of kidnapping in the entire history of Aysén were recorded. One of them was carried out by two Chilean brothers, who kidnapped a Spanish businessman for extortion purposes, a fact that is still under investigation. In the second case, four Colombians dedicated to drug trafficking were sentenced this week to sentences that reach five years for each of them, to which is added the expulsion from the country and the prohibition of re-entering it for a period of 10 years. Those now convicted kidnapped a compatriot of theirs, with whom they had a long history of disputes linked to micro-drug trafficking. Indeed, everything indicates that the kidnappers' intention was to murder their victim, since they were taking her to a desolate area when, in the middle of the night, the vehicle in which they were transporting her was stopped by Carabineros during a routine check. This allowed the victim to escape alive, although she was not unharmed, as she had already been stabbed in the leg. Drug homicide Another incident that signals the arrival of criminal practices previously foreign to the deep south of Chile was the formalization, carried out last week, against eight people who, according to the prosecution, are part of a drug trafficking gang. This group had an altercation on January 29, in the middle of a concert in Aysén, with another individual also involved in drug trafficking. The next day, the first group met the person who would become their victim at a service center on Ogana Street, in Coyhaique, shooting him at close range from a moving vehicle and causing his death. This modus operandi has very few differences with what was observed after the murder of a young drug trafficker in Padre Hurtado last Tuesday. After cleaning the vehicle used in the crime to eliminate any trace of gunpowder, they convinced a minor to incriminate himself as the perpetrator of the homicide, in order to buy time. According to the investigation, two of the accused (Diego Avendaño Fonseca and Felipe Alvarado Domínguez) decided to flee the country, which they achieved through an unauthorized passage in Chile Chico in February of this year, with the help of two subjects. https://www.elmostrador.cl/noticias/pais/2023/10/27/crimen-organizado-al-fin-del-mundo-primeras-condenas-por-secuestro-en-la-historia-de-aysen/
