The final of the Copa Libertadores that Boca Juniors and Fluminense will host is getting closer and closer and this Thursday the mayor of Rio de Janeiro announced that fans will be prevented from consuming alcoholic beverages around the Maracaná stadium on the day of the big match.

According to the decree signed by Mayor Eduardo Paes that was announced in the last few hours, the objective is “municipal competition to maintain urban order (...) in compliance with the public interest of maintaining safety in sports.” That is why the sale and consumption of alcohol will be prohibited from 00:00 on Saturday, November 4 until 6 AM on Sunday in the vicinity of the stadium.

It should be reported that Boca Juniors sold out in minutes the nearly 20 thousand tickets that Conmebol gave the club to sell to its members. But, it is speculated that a wave of 100,000 Xeneizes fans will still travel that weekend to Brazil to be present in Rio de Janiero on the day their team will fight to reach the seventh Copa Libertadores in its history.

In turn, the South American organization reported that from October 30 to November 3, a Fan Zone will operate in the host city of the final, that is, “a neutral space for interaction, entertainment and rest.”

It will be located on Copacabana beach, will operate between 2 and 10 p.m. and will have free entry.

Boca Juniors and Fluminense will define the champion of the Copa Libertadores in the grand final at the Maracaná. It must be remembered that according to the provisions of the Conmebol regulations, in the event of equal goals at the end of the final match, an extension of 30 minutes divided into two periods of 15 minutes each will be used. If parity persists at the end of the period, the winner will be determined by kicks from the penalty spot.

In addition, Xeneize will seek its seventh trophy to reach Independiente's line as the club with the most titles in this competition, while the Brazilian team is going for its first cup.

In turn, the champion will qualify for the Recopa Sudamericana and the Club World Cup. The intercontinental competition that will take place in Saudi Arabia from December 12 to 22 already has six of its seven classified: Manchester City (champion of the Champions League), León de México (champion of the Champions League Concacaf), Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan (Asian champion), Al-Ahly of Egypt (African champion), Auckland City of New Zealand (Oceania champion) and Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia (host country champion).
