FNX Magokiler
The shipment of 150 kilos of cocaine paste was intercepted in Arica. It is the first time that a shipment to that Middle Eastern country has been detected. The drugs were hidden inside a piece of wood and were detected with a Customs cargo scanner. In the midst of the reconfiguration of the world of South American drug trafficking, in which Chile has come to occupy a prominent place in recent years as a country of departure for large shipments of cocaine to the United States and Europe, as well as a recipient of large quantities of creepy marijuana Colombian drug and MDMA (ecstasy) manufactured in Belgium and the Netherlands, an unprecedented fact was discovered on Monday: a shipment of 150 kilos of cocaine base paste, whose final destination was the Islamic Republic of Iran, specifically the port of Bandar Abbas. The crime was evident in the port of Arica, the product of joint work between the Prosecutor's Office, Customs, the Maritime Police and the OS-7 of Carabineros. Indeed, using a scanner, Customs completely reviewed a suspicious cargo that came from Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), which consisted of 60 chipboard beams that were inside a container. This had been sent by an alleged wood factory in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, which is currently being investigated if it exists or if it is just a front company. The cargo, worth close to five thousand dollars (a little less than five million pesos), was shipped on October 9 by a trucking company from La Paz, which left the container at the port of Arica, awaiting the respective inspection. Using a scanner, Customs detected differences in the density of one of the logs, which was reviewed, discovering that it had been hollowed out and filled with solidified cocaine base paste, due to its weight close to 150 kilos (the log in total weighed 322 ). It was a high-quality base paste (which is rare) and, although for the local market it is enough, sources close to the case told El Mostrador that everything indicates that it was a road test; That is, the classic exercise carried out by drug organizations in order to send “smaller” quantities of drugs through different ports, with the precise purpose of verifying the control authorities. Otherwise, there would have been more logs with drugs inside. Regarding its quality, it is presumed that it was being sent to be refined and converted into cocaine hydrochloride at its final destination, in a modus operandi similar to the one that was discovered just weeks ago in Maipú, in a PDI operation. and the Western Prosecutor's Office, where a laboratory in which cocaine was produced was dismantled and which is being investigated is related to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). https://www.elmostrador.cl/noticias/pais/2023/10/19/descubren-envio-de-drogas-desde-arica-cuyo-destino-final-era-iran/
