American Arcadia is the latest work from the Spanish studio Out of the Blue Games, which has behind it a wonderful adventure such as Call of the Sea (Xbox, PlayStation and PS VR) and which has continued to do an extraordinary job with a game which is inspired in some way by that iconic film that was The Truman Show. Do you know how to play it for free now before its release next month?

Out of the Blue Games has had a meteoric career for being a studio of just 12 people, located in Madrid, and whose work is always characterized by having an enormous narrative load. Something that fans of quieter games appreciate. And in this case of American Arcadia, although the genre and development change, we are sure to get some unexpected script twist as a gift.

Play it before launch
With this article we not only want to alert you that you have this game ready to hit digital stores on November 15, but that you can now try it and take a look at it completely free, before that moment even arrives. This has been thanks to Steam, which already has it listed and with an option to download a bit of the adventure to see how this wonder has turned out – can you tell we've tried it? – set in the 70s.

American Arcadia exploits that genre that has been in fashion for several years, which is the development of lateral scrolling, 2.5D that some say because of the type of graphics it uses, and that has already experienced indie classics such as Limbo, Inside, FAR Changing Tides and many others, but as part of a story as original as it is attractive: that of a man who lives imprisoned in a city that stars in an entire prime-time reality show.

In that television program the audience can see how the citizens of that city live, what they do, what they think, what they say and even what they share. Everything can be seen live and there has come a time when our protagonist, Trevor, is no longer amused and wants to leave. Despite the comforts and luxuries with which they are treated to being part of American Arcadia.

No confirmed requirements for American Arcadia
The game is probably not going to ask you for too much hardware, although it is true that, at this time, Out of the Blue Games has not yet published the minimum or recommended requirements of the game on Steam (the only platform for which it will be released), so We will have to wait for a few more days of October to pass to see if they end up uploading them to the Valve store.

On paper, it is certain that it is not going to ask us for a cutting-edge cucumber and even on established PCs such as Steam Deck or Asus ROG Ally they work with little effort, adjusting the quality to the power of those machines – we have tested it. So if you feel like indie, with a good story and better staging, try this American Arcadia. It will be difficult not to like it.
